Freespirit I hope you are ok hon? xx
OMO glas hes feeling a little better today xx
Just saw my OH talking to neighbour outside, was dreading what he was going to tell me and I was right, they sold straight away, to a single older lady (the one I saw in there the other day Im guessing) Im devastated0 -
O dear snuggle bunny x know it going to be hard x0

I think you just need a doctor to say you have all your faculties.
I know of a lady of 92 who is still driving. She got stopped for speeding last year, and they just told her to watch her speed.
Bet I would have got fined and had points on my licence.
When they do stop driving here, they get mobility scooters and run you over on the pavement.
I had a massive row with a man in a scooter outside our local supermarket a couple of years ago. Ds was standing in his way so he bibbed his hooter at him. I went absolutely mad at him.
How dare him bib at him. I told him to say excuse me and he said that's what he had his hooter for.
So I told him, I could tell him what a rude little p**ck he was, but that's what my fist was for.
He reversed at that point and went a different way.:rotfl:
It annoys me that they go on about how rude teenagers are and to be honest I find a lot of old people much ruder.0 -
True x they think own the road and the pavement0

Omo - Glad DS is on the mend.
Opee92 - Good luck with the move.
Car failed MOT which we knew it would. I got the MOT done 6 weeks early so we can start slowly get the things needed fixed, and if the repairs cost a lot we would have looked for a new car but as they are a couple of hundred its better that we sort these and I get another 6 months out of the car whilst we sort finances.
Without trying to be stereo typical of people of a certain age driving- this is a topic where I do get on my soapbox.
When I had DS, and had only had a cesarean section the day before, an old lady in her 80s hit the wrong pedal and reversed into the our maternity unit.
Because of the gas, oxygen, machinery etc, there were firemen called, there was mass hysteria and the poor nurses were clearly gobsmacked and we were all either shipped off to other hospitals or sent home early. The most upsetting thing for me was a window shattered near my bed that my DS had been in front of in his basin cot thing a few hours earlier, which still makes me feel sick thinking about.
Because it was such a big incident it was in the local news and in the papers, and apparently the old lady didn't see what all the fuss was about. I still have the press cuttings to show DS when he's older.
My neighbour also had a pensioner just randomly drive into her parked car, and said he was sorry but couldn't find his glasses so had tried to manage without them but couldn't see.
I can't believe the government don't enforce regular testing.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
I agree, my gd is just too elderly to drive now, its dangerous. he doesn't druve much hut when he does its a mare!
Just been with dd1 to a birthday party. She had fun but it was manic at a soft play place. Glad to be home, just cooking a roast now x0 -
Visited my building society this morning to pay in this months £50 into my special house deposit saving account. The cashier very kindly pointed out that to qualify for the special reward that the account offers I have to pay the money in by Standing Order, not over the counter! Seems ridiculous to me, but very glad she told me now, not at the end of the account term. Just wish they had told me that when I opened it. So came home and set up my Standing Order, another job off the to do listHobnobs are like marines0

Argh! It seriously drives me crazy when they hide the small print like that! I have major problems with my business bank account, they refuse to pay in cash or cheques at the counter - I have to use the machine, unable to pay coins in, notes only and if the machine is broke, they kick up a huge fuss if I ask to pay it in manually
Nana that is wonderful news about your DSIL :T
OMO sorry your son is still in pain, but glad it isnt as bad as it was.
Well I feel a bit naughty, as you all know I was trying to get guinea pig bits as cheap as possible - just went into pets@home and got a XL bed, hay, dog treats and a wire feeder for £6 - it should have been double that, I was undercharged but didn't notice until I was home :embarasse
Guinea pigs are very sweet, but very timid - I feel so sorry for the poor things. As soon as I put their new house in the cage they dived straight in and started chirping. My Mother hasn't been giving them hay as she lost the feeder early last year  Guinea pigs have to have hay in their diet or they can't digest food properly! After checking it was okay, have got some chopped sweet peppers hidden in their cage - will stimulate them into hopefully finding it.[/COLOR]2024 Challenges
Live in the moment more and appreciate the small things0 -
OMO-Glad DS is feeling a bit better today. x
freespirit66-Hope you have a better weekend. xx
BBTHREE-Do they have a room you could wait in? Saves you walking and freezing! OH usually waits because by the time he got home it would be finished lol. *ignore that part, just re-readyour update lol. Hope you can get the repairs sorted cheaply.* Your story is truly trrifying, what a horrible experience for everyone! It actually reminded me (nowhere near as bad though!) but when we were taking DS home (a few days after he was born as I had a caesarean too) an oldish lady reversed into a bollard in the car park. It ripped right out of the ground! I think some older people can drive perfectly well, my OHs grandad drives regularly and he's in his 80s but then I know someone over 20 years younger who really shouldnt imo. Driving is such a minefield!
Nanamia-No havent sorted a doctors appointment yet.But I will book one on Monday as soon as they open, my Mum is really worried about me now and I dont want to worry her so I will definitely go. Thankyou for caring. xxx Absolutely wonderful news about your DSIL, I am over the moon for you all.
Have a great day. xx
Snugglebunny-I do feel so sad for you, it is a shame. Im sure they will miss you terribly too, is there a Travelodge/holiday park or anything anywhere near where they moving too? I know its 'only' 60? miles but still far enough to be a long drive to visit, maybe in one of the school holidays you could make a little trip of it and have a long visit. Something to look forward to. xx
Arrrgh Opee, not what you need! Hope the snow clears off for you!! xx
rosalie_lavender-Hope everyone is feeling better now! x
Well its another quiet weekend here, going to do some baking in a minute. I dont think OH is working next Saturday so we really must do something. Maybe wrap up warm and go to Bunny Park!'They only had one cow!'0 -
Happy Saturday evening all x
Hope everyone is well, or feeling better. Got some Xmassy bits today, a couple of little colouring books for the Elf to bring next year and 2 Xmas aprons from Morrisons (99p each) quite nice with a Reindeer face on the front.
Anyone interested in getting an Elf - they had the small Chilly elfves reduced in Tesco's for 1.35, they were on the reduced toy shelf. Wish I had seen them and not DD2, as would have put one away for Snowy to bring with her next year.
