    OMO I hope you had a good nights sleep, I think you definitely needed it!

    Dropsofjupiter, thank you so much lovely :) It's only a few pounds here and there that are going in, but it's already gone over the £400 mark and I am ecstatic! We also have an adorable kitty money box (bought in sainsburys 75% off sale ;)) that we are putting the odd 50p and pound coin in. It will get raided throughout the year for parking, but I hope to have £50 in there by the end of the year :) Finances have a few weeks to go before being back in the black again, but I am confident we will stay there once in :)

  • Just popping on OMO to say I hope your son is feeling better now and you had a good night's sleep. We have had a sickness bug here and it was really hard watching my daughter so poorly and really feel for you having your son so ill. Hopefully today will be a better day for you.

    I am having one of those 'be careful what you wish for' moments.

    We have been snowless and I really wanted some. It's here now and is thick and gorgeous.

    Unfortunately it's also finally here on the morning I have to take my car for its MOT a mile up the road, then walk home, then walk back again to collect it later : (
    Aims for 2014
    Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

    Well it's moving day 1 of 3 here for me....only problem is we've woke to around 3/4 inches of snow! :( Removals men have just rung and informed me that they can't get the vans out of their yard as they've had the snow even worse than us and are completely snowed in......they've told us they can GUARANTEE something for Monday though (would love to know how they can guarantee something when we're forecast even more snow over the weekend!) And breathe...........1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10............that's better :D Oh well we shall have to dig the car out and try move some of the smaller stuff instead!

    OMO I hope your DS is feeling better today....my DD has had a viral infection (sickness, rash, runny bum and a nasty cold) for the past couple of days and spent the majority of the night wandering into my room......13 times I had to take her back to bed as OH decided he would just ignore her constant re-appearance at the door because in his words "you're more patient with her when you're tired than I am - I'll just get stressed and end up shouting at her which she doesn't deserve when she's poorly" .........is it me or can men find an excuse for ANYTHING?!

    Thankyou to whoever posted about the piping bags in poundland (for the first time since being on this/the old thread a poundland bargain was posted and my local store actually had it in store!!! We have a poundland but it's only a small one and often doesn't have anything worth reporting) I think it was PoppyGirl? So thankyou! Also managed to get some beautiful Cellophane presentation bags (20 along with 20 red ribbons to tie them) I'm sure I will find a use for them :D Also (I don't know if this was just in my local store) they had large Disney Princess wall clocks..a bargain at just £1 each, especially since the same ones are currently £6 each in tesco, so as I have 3 disney princess mad nieces I got one of each design to put away for their Christmas boxes :D

    I too would report the cold or ask your DH to do it on your behalf. Can't stand them, my house phone is only ever plugged in to make calls due to being bombarded with calls.
    Always after a bargain we've missed you:( has DH gone away to work again? Must be so hard. What a chuckle we've had with the OMO :) ooh what goes on on the bases would bring tears to my eyes. Ha ha ha

    Trendyjenny it's good to count our blessings and try to be positive but there are times when it just doesn't help. Even when you tell yourself it should! Please be kind to yourself and allow your body the time it needs :)
    BBTHREE ooooh that sounds lovely :) we should definitely do that when I'm home. Although I did nothing special think we helped each other xxx
    Freespirit please don't stay away when you are down:( we are always here to listen. Over the last few months we've dealt with so much together -laughter and tears. It makes me sad to think you felt you couldn't post! Do not let that happen again :) There are usually one of us about to rant, chat, laugh, cry, giggle and generally help each other through :) xxx

    Moneysavingmumofone have you rang the drs? I will be constantly checking until you do. Even a phone appointment to explain how you feel?

    I have the most wonderfully exciting news my amazing DSiL is waiting for a bed on the rehabilitation unit, where she will receive more intense physio :) next step HOME (10 weeks today since she was admitted) xxx

  • Well all the snow we had yesterday has turned to ice, we live in a dead end and the road never gets treated not looking forward to going out in the car today!

    going to have to start cutting back as we need 3 new windows, had some money put aside ( was meant to be for Carpets, have wood floors just now as I hate them) but a bit short.

    Xmas Saver!
    Well we had an OK night. Could have been better but no where near as bad as the night before. The anti sickness tablets have worked, but the painkillers aren't doing much. He isn't rolling about in agony any more, but he is still in pain most of the time.

    We didn't get any of the forecast snow, just a lot of rain.

    I spoke to one of my friends today. Her Mums next door neighbour lost control of his car yesterday and reversed into her Mums house.
    Luckily her Mum doesn't live they any more. She went into a home a couple of weeks ago.
    The neighbour is in his 80's and by the time she got there he had already got a lift to a garage to get a new car :mad:
    You would think, that would show him he wasn't safe on the road any more. My friend said she didn't say anything to his wife, as she was so upset. I am not sure what his insurance company will say. Surely they can refuse to insure him.
  • I thought when you got to certain age you had to retake your test x


    Just downloaded budget app to try and sort out my spending x think if have to write down everything I buy then might begin to get out of overdraft and start saving x set budget at 100 for the week x this is to include food petrol and loan (50) a week.

    Please help keep me on track x

    Going to sort my bday list and Christmas list too x
