  • OMO I hope hes ok :( sending you both hugs xxxx

quick bargain alert! in Boots firstly they have Philosophy Christmas range half price on the website and in bigger stores (didnt have time to stop at lunchtime even though they had the whole range there as there was a queue, just popped to the smaller Boots near me and they dont have it grrr!) and also Sanctuary offer - if you spend £10 you get a free boxed candle which has SEL and RRP at £10, its a beautiful candle as its their classic one and its in a lovely box, Ive had one of these before and it smells beautiful, so I got a Spa gift set for my Mum for Christnas which I know she likes and got the candle free for my friend who likes Sanctuary and also loves scented candles, so a great bargain for me!!

Hope the sickness eases soon SugarSpun, I suffered throughout so you have my sympathy! xx

Had an email back from the Sun holidays finally and they're processing my refund, was panicking a bit that my bargain holiday was not going to be such a bargain! Although the refund is £49 and I have to pay £49 service charge/entertainment passes within the next 12 days so not really 'up' at all! :rotfl:Saves worrying where Im going to find the £49 though as I didnt realise Id have to pay service charges etc so soon! (holiday is in October)

OMO that is terrible :( Hope things get sorted soon - sending you and your son positive thoughts and well wishes.

Well we had our first ever cold caller since we moved out 4 years ago. It was horrid, he was very pushy, barged his way into my home and was quite tricky to get rid of. He was collecting on behalf of the deaf foundation and made me feel terrible, telling me it's only 20p a day. He then proceeded to lie to me by saying that 100% of his direct debits go directly to the charity whereas the website takes a cut - obviously he, and the staff that process the paper work don't get paid then and the paper etc he is supplied with is free?

I am terrible with confrontation and ended up telling him that it was a joint account and I needed permission from DH for any outgoings. He told me that all he needed was my account number and sort code and he'd be out of my hair! Even offered to come back when poor DH got in from work to agree it all, managed to put him off but I felt terrible once I'd finally managed to get him out the door :(

  • That's awful feisty . I have a chain on my door and a sticker saying no cold calling x did see a sign that said cold callers would be told to xxxxxxxx but wasn't brave enough to put that on letter box.

I am so fed up. This morning I realised I had left my tablet at home. Understandable, but it has some good books in it, and one of the reasons I got it was for times like that.
When I got home I thought I must add it to the hospital list. Only by the time I had sorted ds out and had a cup of coffee I had forgotten.
So here I am again, for the second time today WITH NO TABLET.
Ds is asleep on morphine and I am sitting looking at a blue curtain.:(

Call the foundation and complain - or send an email if it feels less like confronting. They'll be able to track down who was in your area. It's a horrible job, they're paid quite well generally because it's such a miserable job to have but that's no call to pass on horrible feelings to you.

Quite random things pop in your mind when you only gave a blue curtain to look at.

Attempt number 2 at typing all this.....

Feisty Fidget - Congrats on paying your car insurance outright. That's something I have never achieved but is a great way to lower the cost straight away. Can't help re Guinea pigs as I have never had any.

Snugglebunny8 - Don't feel bad about being upset about your neighbours moving. It's totally understandable as remember "Friends are the family we choose for ourselves".

Moneysavingmumofone - Good luck with the christening. My Sil had phobias and (without putting too much on here as it's not my tale to tell) her GP referred her to a counsellor and it really helped.

Nanamia - Bents doesn't have to wait till December, we can go as soon as you are back around. The brews are on me to thank you for all your kindness and support.

OMO - Loving the graphic! Sorry to hear about DS, that's horrific, but he's in the best place.

Trendyjenny - As Nanamia said earlier you have to go with flow. The fact that you recognise the feeling is a positive thing. If there are times when you feel down and need stay away from everyone and let the moment pass, then go with it.

Crowd pleaser- When I was 5 I had my tonsils taken out and when my Dad came to visit me he brought me a gold necklace with the spinney I love you thing that you could only read when you blew on it. Much as I loved it, I was only 5 and it was soon lost/broke, and I have always wanted another. My hubby knew this story and bought me one as a surprise on the day we got engaged.

Princesskitty29 - Sorry to hear about the redundancy. It happened to me 3 years ago, but bizarrely it's made us all even closer as we have all made a really big effort to keep on touch.
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D
