So I've not been on in a few days - busy weekend and this thread moves so quickly. Hope everyone is having a lovely new year!Ameyturtle wrote: »Anyone got any good recipes that use pork mince?
All I can think of is meatballs and burgers, pork mince is the Aldi special at the minute £1.49 for 500g of pork mince seems good
Not sure if anyone else replied but I recently made some pork moussakas, easy and yummy and refract for the freezer too. HTHI had a phone call this morning from the IVF centre, we have been approved for a full cycle of treatment, so we may have a Holly and the Ivy baby, I will keep you all posted as and when I know - we don't start until the end of Jan
Congratulations! 27 here too (for now) and am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you.
I was wondering whether anyone has saved money on a gift card I.e. topping £5 on to an M&S gift card every week? Dunno if you can do that?
Also, am starting to think about DD's first birthday in April (is it too early?) and want to do a teddy bears picnic theme so was wondering whether anyone had any ideas for food or decor? adults Too obviously. Also, any ideas for a token party bag like gifts (cheaply) for a little pile of 1 year olds?:heart2:DD born 11/04/12 :heart2:

but it would mean shopping through the year I think it'd be nice to have 5 done that you could potentially get wrapped already.
Most probably, but then I know I will keep adding to them, so they won't come in on budget.
The problem I have with hampers is that I never think they have enough in them, so just keep buying more bits.
So really the teddy bags won't cost me a lot more. Especially as we will use all the shower gel etc, out of the hamper bits.0 -

Why have I got an alcoholic mum?
Why have I got a son with ASD ?
Why did I end up a single parent ?
Why do I have to watch every penny ?
WHY WHY WHY ?
Sometimes I think I must have been a really bad person in a past life, to have this life now. (Ps I don't really believe in reincarnation)
I think we al feel like this sometimes even without the depression!! The way I look at it is we were given these things to deal with as we are strong and can where many other people would cruble we take it in our stride and learn to copefreespirit66 wrote: »We dont realise how strong we are deep down, we just compare ourselves to other people who dont suffer from this, my sister is the total opposite to me strong, fights back, stands up for herself, and she can never understand how i feel, shes not horrible about it but just cant comprehend it, you already seem as if you are being kind to yourself, im sorry about your mum and your dad thats very sad, i have a notebook too and stick in cards that people have wrote really nice things about me, i have to take my antidepressants but i wouldnt say they have got me to this place today. I always find it funny that we know just what to say to other people but never apply the same advice to ourselves. Hope you are feeling a bit better today.
I know what you mean about your sister mine is the same she does try though!! My mum is a lot better now and has been for a few years I think she just got used to not going out so doesn'tI find it strange also that we can give advice to others but not take our own advice!! Hope you and everyone else are doing okay today
I'm great today I spent the day watching films with my boyfriend just because I didn't feel like going out

That's such a good attitude trendyjenny
I'm sure it'll still be waiting for you tomorrow !
Poppygirl oh yes that makes you one of us. Out of lurkdome you come:) x
Snugglebunny bless you doing DDs paper round, hope the exam went ok and that DS is feeling better. Well done on your Christmas savings already. I collect tesco saving stamps but have a few cards on the go at the same time, if the presents I buy don't come from tesco I use the stamps to pay for shopping then pay myself back in cash ( if that makes sense!) I also have three Asda gift cards on the go at the same time and add £1 or 2 each time I shop,at Asda which isn't that often but over the year it mounts up also save my nectar points. Worked well this year Christmas was more or less paid for using these weekly savings
Msgigglewick huge hugs whisking there way to you. Please be kind to yourself xxx
Domravioli what wonderful wonderful news. Keeping everything crossed for you x
Feisty you will make such a fab mummy :)really hoping you get the answers and then will be able to move forward. Wowzer what an amazing gift egg donation is. You really are a special ladyxxx
Aaaww Linky thank goodness you are back ! No packing done as yet, much to,DHs annoyance:( he thinks the house is a tip when really it is organised chaos. I have everything under control (I hope) Much as I'd love to sneak you into my suitcase there is no chance, I've got that much stuff. We've an extra 20kg allowance and DH is gonna explode if I've exceeded that. Ha
Bunbun bless you it certainly isn't you, look how quickly you've become a regular lovely on here (we only have the nicest, kindest, thoughtful, generous loving people on here) I think people just move away, some people are rubbish at keeping in touchYou've always got us. Somebody is always around with a shoulder or ear to lend - knowing full well you will return the favour one day
.
Moneysavingmumofone - sorry to stick my nose in but have you had a check up at the drs? You must really look after yourself you kno. In a totally selfish way we rely on you xxx
Freespirit I'm so very sorry I some how missed yesterday's post. Oh my word you really have been through a very tough time. Sending you massive virtual hugs, you are amongst friends here. Your posts always show what a very thoughtful, caring person you are. You show great strength and courage well done you. (And can I have a little of what you've got please)
Picked up a few bargains on my travels today (off for last minute bits etc) they are not going in my pressie stash tho I've treated myself (shock horror) a few nice nail varnishes (boots set reduced £5) small coin purse (TKMax £3) and a few bits for my DGDs some to take and some to leave here for DGD2. I've put a selection of little presents together for her and DD is going to give her one every couple of days from us. I've got a pretty gift bag and given DD some tissue paper to wrap each in as she chooses to give them to DGD2. I'm a little worried cos she thinks that Australia is like the Bermuda Triangle ! Her auntie, uncle and cousin went and never came back so we've tried to drum in that we are going but then coming back!!!! I don't know I do like to complicate matters.
Update on DSiL - well there isn't really one today. We were at the hospital with DH (he was having a scan) early this morning so asked if we could pop in to see her even tho it wasn't really visiting hours. She was fast fast asleep! Back for 2pm usual visiting still fast asleep her DP went at 6pm visiting still fast asleep!!! I'm hoping that it was a reaction to her increased dosage of her psych meds and that she be fabby again tomorrow
I really have rambled tonight. Excuse me I'm giddy xxxThe secret of Christmas

When ever any of us are unwell we all sleep until we are better.
By sleeping all day she has wasted none of the energy needed to help repair. xx

Nana, I think it's excellent that your DSIL slept all day. Her body will have managed to get all sorts repaired, I know it can be a bit worrying, but it really is a good thing.
Loving the encouragement OMO
