Now finished reading Calling Mrs Christmas and would definitely recommend it. Lovely book-very festive without being the usual boring Christmas romance. Some books can get very samey, but this was great. Enjoyed it so much that I want to buy it (got library copy at the moment) so will save my amazon vouchers and hope the kindle version stays at £2.99 or even better drops in price!

Had a mulled cider and a cry and feel a bit better now. I know people are going through much worse than my silly problems so I should count my blessings, really.

I often find a little cry helps when things are all getting a bit too much, it's very cathartic :o And you have to remember that no-one else's problems are any greater or lesser, or more 'valid' than your own, so don't put yourself down. At the end of the day you're only human and you have every right to feel upset about whatever you feel upset about. That doesn't make it any easier, I know, but sometimes acknowledging and accepting how we feel makes it easier to deal with somehow, if that makes sense?
  • Hugs on the way to you Ruth :)

    Thank you. :)

On a more festive note, who is taking part in the Christmas jumper day tomorrow? I'll be wearing mine. If you tweet a pic of you wearing yours to @MontagneJeuness then they're donating £5 to @SavetheChildren for every Christmas jumper pic. Use hash tag #MJXMASJUMPER too!

I'll definitely be doing this! I love wearing my snowman jumper, partly because it's ridiculously Christmassy, but also because it really annoys my manager, who is a proper Scroogey Old Fart :D A couple of years ago everyone decorated his office and stuck all the decorations to the ceiling so that he couldn't get them down, he was NOT impressed :rotfl:

    Xmas Saver!
Just had a mad moment and bathed Mia on my own.
She was filthy after our walk. Was going so well until she shaked while coming down the stairs. Then again in the lounge. I threw her outside, only for her to have a mad 5 minutes on the lawn. She then ran back in and put muddy paw prints all over the lounge carpet.

So I have bathed the dog, cleaned the bath, wiped down the walls, steamed the hard floors and scrubbed the carpet.
    But she smells nice. :D

Freespirit Laughing not allowed... I used Happy Hippy shower gel from work, I seem to have bought Mum wayyyy more of the stuff than I had realised this year, so we've been using it as a general cleaner, so all I did was a squidge of happy hippy in the mop bucket, some hot water and a old broom we call 'the garden broom' and scrubbed like !!!!!!y but it seemed to work, you'll need a few buckets full.
My christmas spirit returned this morning however we've done several shops today and I ache.
So I think I am feeling festive on the days I am not at work :rotfl:
    Love and hugs to all

oh haha that is brilliant AMEY i love it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yep Freespirit I have. Had a couple of festive days really, keep borrowing DGD2 she never fails to make us smile :) Last night was her sleepover night as usual so we went to playgroup this morning, Christmas music, lists for who is bringing what to next weeks Christmas party, making baubles and Christmas cards. Generally chatting and having fun. Then her Dad picked her up. DH and I had some lunch and then my lovely girly neighbours, DD and I went to Manchesters Christmas markets :) We only bought a drink and the others had burgers but we had such a good laugh and lots of Christmas fun :) I really am so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people. Except DD said I was embarrassing her haha and she is coming again haha till next year. Lovely neighbours and I (not DD) have promised to plan a few more treats out together. The markets were very similar to previous years so didn't even have to spend was going to treat DH to some fudge but a blue bottle landed very close to it so I changed my mind! (DD was embarrassed by this too apparently) Feeling really quite festive xxx
Caitlyn oh how I've missed you. I do know you lead such an interesting life you've not time to post often but it's always such a joy when you do :) Your photos look amazing, looks like such fun. I'm so sorry that your family have decided on the move. As Freespirit says I'm always around if you need to chat, I'd be no use what so ever to be honest. I don't think I will ever be over it :( My darlings have been gone almost 16 months and it hurts like hell :( But having been and seen how much more they have going for them over there compared to here an understand that it was right for them. And I promise that FaceTime and the likes really are amazing, you will be part of your DNs life through that and the visits. The thing about communicating through FaceTime it's like them really being there with you, so I just carry on what I'm doing as if they've just popped in for a chat and make it more natural for DGD1. It is NO blooming good for a cuddle tho! Which part of Australia are they going to? DS is in Perth and although to us it's expensive the flights start at around £770 but accommodation is free so it is doable just not twice a week that I'd like :( xxx
Mrsinvisible I sense you are over doing it again??? I'm excited for the Chinese contingents arrival woo hoo. Enjoy ever single minute with them, especially since you had to cut your holiday with them short. Give them an extra squeeze for me :) What a wonderful friend you are, I love to thing of you and your grandma sister xxx
Murie blooming well pop on here more often I love to hear about your preperations and I miss you when you go AWAL xxx
Gettingtherequickly that did make me chuckle, knowing Linky she'd be up for spray painting it white xxx
Ruth aww no my lovely what a day you've had. I hope you sleep well and tomorrow is much happier. Artheins words are so beautiful and are perfect so I hope you are taking note :) I've downloaded Calling Mrs Christmas and a few others, will let you know how I'm getting on :) ive just read your last post and texted DD "i neeeeed a christmas jumper NOW" Sending big hugs and lots of love xxx
Freespirit remember that quote cos it's going to be our new mantra for the coming year :) Argha I didn't realise you could mix scents too, with the wax tarts, I may google. And it'll be all your fault xxx
MKGIRL oh no blooming hek. It's unbelievable :( I did volunteer to do your shift but I think your company may object, I'm certainly not management material xxx
his missus your trip sounds just perfect. Exactly what you needed :) X
b_e_g Your Saturday sounds perfect too, it's good to treat yourselves. I hope you and DH have a great time xxx
Quidsy good job you've remembered about the selection boxes, you could have ruined a Christmas tradition haha xxx
Mrs M you've managed to knacker me out once again just reading what you've managed to fit in today. You really are a lovely person. How thoughtful to whip up a few extra stockings for the extra children visiting, that was so thoughtful of you. Hope the concert went well, looking forward to hearing about it in the morning xxx
Pinksteps that's great news about the casts. Dosey lot aren't they! Still better late than never! Hope you've had a good day today xxx
Feisty oh no it's just one thing after another isn't it, fingers crossed its the last of the hidden costs from the business. Can understand DH not wanting to give his channels up, I jiggle the finances regularly so my DH can keep his too, but he watches a lot of tv and gets comfort from it, relieves his boredom on poorly days xxx
Pigpen hope you and the littlies are feeling better, and you manage some sleep tonight. Yay you've wrapped too. Go you :) But have you remembered to eat? xxx
Bunbun yay welcome back. How are you feeling? How is DH ? Really glad to "see" you xxx
Linky that blooming mother argh :( nightmare. Hope DD is ok, like she needs this argh. Our dog used to do the same as Mia, then roll around on the carpet leaving that delightful wet dog odour for us all to share haha xxx
Ameyturtle I think it's cos you are in retail, it's hard as it is in schools, seem to be all Christmased out X
Peppa I am flabbergasted that you've only just realised Nana is always right xxx
