hello! please can I come back and join you all? I was going to come back on 1 December and nearly two weeks later have made it:eek:
I wrapped my first presents last night for a friend's boys as I was meeting her today. I also realised how scattered all my presents are and I had better start sorting them all out.
I wrote all my Christmas cards last week which is unheard of for me to do them so early - I know this is late for most of you! However I keep forgetting to post them so at this rate they are going to be late like every other year.
I have been reading but will start afresh from here if that's OK.
b e g I didn't realise you were from near Durham. Is the carol concert you are going to on Saturday the WI one? OH and I were thinking of going to that!
feisty sorry to hear about the shocking treatment your OH is getting from the hospital

Was getting tight for time so I sent a text asking her if she was coming and she said they'd called her yesterday and said the class was cancelled.
Went round the supermarkets for a bit, delivered cards to the neighbours and then sat down to read a book when my mum called. She was asking what my plans were for next week when I come down. I have three close friends to see, plus my stepmum (whose dad has just died, so I especially want to see her), brother and Auntie.
Mum is working for an agency, so has funny shifts, but I had notes of roughly when she is working. But I've also got to work around everyone else's schedules too, so I've planned what I can, keeping the whole of Sunday free to spend with mum. She seemed a bit off with me and got stroppy when I said I had made plans for all of Friday (seeing one friend in the day, another in the evening) because she wanted me to help with the Christmas decorations. I got off the phone and burst into tears. I don't know why I bother sometimes. I can't seem to do anything right. Each visit back 'home' just gets me stressed out and annoyed.
Chin up
I have put all my phones on silent. I have had 32 calls from my !!!!!! mother today. The message on the machines is the sound of her pushing buttons on her other phone.since I got home as one has stopped the other has rung.
She has also been ringing dd. She just texted her 'Why ?' . So know dd is upset. I have told her to turn off her phone. If I need her I will ring her friend.
I am hoping she will black out soon and they will stop. Let's hope she doesn't get brave and walk here. 1. I don't think she would make it. 2. If she did she would regret it.
Am trying to work out when to go food shopping next week. It's date verses packed shops. I only need a normal shop really as I have most of my Christmas bits. And I am not going over the next weekend of the week of Christmas.0 -

Caitlyn, loving the pics and very jealous of you US trip. Would also like to have been at nephew's nativity lol. So sorry to hear your sister and family are going to Australia after all - I can imagine how much you'll miss them but don't have the right words to say. Hopefully the others on here with loved ones far away will be much more useful than me. I do agree with your last comment about Christmas though and have realised that Nana is right, you do always seem to say the best thing. Could you send some of that talent this way please?
OMO, how awful for you and your poor DD, especially after what happened recently. I can't offer any pearls of wisdom but I hope you and DD are ok and will be thinking of you.
Not a lot happening on the Christmas front here at the moment - have got pressie for DD1 and OH still to get and inspiration has deserted me. Hoping for a 'Eureka' moment before it's too late. I have decided though that I am now officially on the lead in to Christmas so I am going to do something Christmassy every day from now until the big day - roll on tomorrow........It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
I have nothing to say.
Just wanted to be the 10,000 poster :rotfl:0 -
^^ lol
Hope dd is feeling a little less upset now, poor thing x[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Freespirit Laughing not allowed... I used Happy Hippy shower gel from work, I seem to have bought Mum wayyyy more of the stuff than I had realised this year, so we've been using it as a general cleaner, so all I did was a squidge of happy hippy in the mop bucket, some hot water and a old broom we call 'the garden broom' and scrubbed like !!!!!!y but it seemed to work, you'll need a few buckets full.
My christmas spirit returned this morning however we've done several shops today and I ache.
So I think I am feeling festive on the days I am not at work :rotfl:
Love and hugs to all0 -

The one we are going to is 'Christmas with Durham Cathedral Choir' at 7.30. I think the WI one is in the afternoon.
We have visited the Cathedral many times over the years but I have never been to a service of any kind. Really looking forward to it.
