            Evening
Just general flying done today as been trying to upload pics onto FB from a stupidly slow PC that kept crashing. Only DH and I at home tonight as DS and GF gone to his dads and DD has gone for a sleepover so we have satand watched one of the family christmas DVD's so we are probably in trouble tomorrow!
LW - glad you are all sorted with the boiler and hope there are no more bad dreams
Mummyof5 - definitely not an ogre, our children have to learn, sometimes the hard way
Valli - glad you enjoyed your christmas and sounds like you have been flying high!
And for those doing the ironing challenge, forget ironing try this

Didnt realise it was so late. Off to my pit now. Night allMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Morning all. I don't really know what I'm going to do with all day by myself today. I had planned to go in DDs room (I know I said I wouldn't, and now I won't) to get it ready for DS staying but now he's visiting next week instead, and I was going to make extra Yorkshires but again, have enough for DH only.
I have a few jobs to catch up on from the list, and have already made a start of clearing up emails etc on the pc. I also have the dogs to walk of course, but it is blowing a gale out there and is not very inviting.
Will update later. Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
            Morning all
Lacking motivation so far today. FiL and nephew still here, once they go I'll sort the beds out and do some laundry.
DS3 needs to watch less telly today and the LR needs tidying and the table putting away. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
            Morning all,
Bit of bad news, my granny passed away early this morning
she had another stroke. In many ways it is a blessing as she was suffering, and hopefully she can now find some peace. One auntie is kicking off but the others are rallying round, and it should all be ok. God bless my granny :A gosh she was a git sometimes, but we did love her.
I had planned to go to the shops today, but the sky is black here and DS has already said he just wants to play with his toys today. He needs new shoes but it's not desperate. My mum will probably come over later for a hug. And my dad may pop in too.
Ugh. Don't know what to do with myself now. This is the first time I've lost someone close since dh.

Back from Wales and straight in there with my opinions

Can I please ask your advice: I don't know whether to declutter the quick way (charity shop/throwing away) or to e-bay any [STRIKE]old tat[/STRIKE] items of interest. I could do with the money for various projects, but time is also in short supply and creating space quickly would be nice.
Personally I would get rid as quickly and easily as possible and only sell high-value items that you are pretty sure of getting a good price for
Just after a bit of advice...DS1 is 18..on a training scheme at the mo so get tax credits etc..he doesnt get any money of his own...he has ran up a £150 phone bill...this is the 2nd time he has done it...am I wrong to refuse him permission to visit girlfriend overnight..bearing in mind it will either cost us money in diesel or almost £10 in bus fares????...he thinks I am an ogre at the moment
As many others have said you are definitely NOT an ogre; you are more than generous I think. If there are no consequences to his 'bad choices' then he will not see any need to change. I would take the phone away from him for the time it takes you to pay off the bill he has run up
Bossy I'm sorry to hear your sad news. May granny find peace now :A Thinking of you xxx

So sorry to hear this bossymoo - sending many hugs to you and your family to get you through this painful time. Do what feels right today - chilling out is allowed, as is flying like a loony if it helps to occupy you and the LO's time and minds. Only you knows what's best.
I don't know what to say now ........
I have people guests arriving later this morning and the house is in need of some attention, so I have rallied TeamTMD into action. Oh is doing the kitchen; DS is hoovering downstairs; DD is stripping her bed and tidying her roon (that's where they'll be staying) and I'm on our room, bathroom and study. I really wish I'd kept it tidy as that is half the battle, but there is tidying AND cleaning to do and I'm starting to panic ever so slightly. Please will someone join me for HH or so, starting NOW?!Decluttering junk and debt in 2016
