Mof5, is your son hoping the Bank of Mum and Dad is going to pay? If so then NO you are not being an ogre, you are starting to set rules etc (oh and if you are paying then he is going to have to "pay" it off by doing work around the house!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Mummyyof5 of the tax credits is he getting any of the money from you? It is a tough ? to answer without knowing how the whole money thing works in your house tbh. Good luck.
Ironing all done, bathroom not. To the bed sorting next though. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

CY Not sure, at all but thanks for the suggetions. He seems very pleasant, but he's very keen to keep himself to himself, so I don't know what's going on. He may have taken it to work to wash, but if he has, that's the first time anyone ever has! I was going to change it today anyway, along with his bed so I'm not too keen on putting another one out until I get that one back.
I'm struggling here a bit. The dog's refusing to take her medication, made a good stab at throwing up on an empty stomach and still not getting better despite the antibiotics and prokolin. I think both she and I are going down with summink.Better is good enough.0 -
thats me quit ironing for today i will get the rest done tomorrow. Need to go wash my hair and do something with it and get changed we are going to visit papa tonight he has pneumonia (sp) and i need to go to morrissons to use my vouchers before OH goes to Edinburgh tomorrow then I will have to carry the shopping home.
Mof5 no your not an ogre money does not grow on trees your son needs to learn that. I would have him on PAYG pronto. I agree with Dragon if he wants pocket money to go see his gf he should be doing something for it. My 16yr old goes out to work at the weekend to pay for his extras, his college allowance only pays his travel and lunches (he wants to eat out I refuse to pay, i offered a packed lunch but he refused) his phone bill and expensive stuff he pays for! 14yr old gets very little money because he does very little helping hes learning though, no work = no money.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Done HHC x2 pottering, doing odd jobs around the house, but all stuff that needed doing.
DS2 has played on the Wii, done some homework, decluttered biscuits (after lunch) and is now next door, playing with NN's daughter.
I'll have a nosy online (maybe delete some e-mails) before going back to pottering. Will have to think about tea, too.
This may involve going to the shops - something I had hoped to avoid. 0 -

Well! Christmas was lovely; Boxing Day - some of us went for a walk round markeaton park and then to my eldest neices; back home late afternoon for DS to go to his GF's where he's been until today so I never switched the PC on AT ALL yesterday. I thoroughly cleaned DS's room, my room and the stairs and landing and vacuumed DD's room so the house looks MUCH better. Carpets were hand brushed to remove hair (ugh) and I de-moulded the window frames. Ironing pile is small and soon to be even smaller. I have had some fabulous gifts; I am very lucky.
Now to catch up with the thread.

Thanks, yes we now have lovely hot water and working radiators.:T:T:T They finished about 15:30 yesterday - left quite a mess, but Mr LW is a pretty good FlyLad so between us we soon got it sorted out.;)helen_jelly wrote: »LW - have the workmen finished?
My nerves were well and truly jangled (had nightmares last night, directly related to having workmen in) but that's par for the course.
Mummyyof5 personally I agree wholeheartedly with what The Dragon has said .The_Dragon wrote: »Mof5, is your son hoping the Bank of Mum and Dad is going to pay? Daisy has had her walkies - I've been making sure to take her out in time to get back before it starts getting dark; and she's has some food. She's one of those dogs that picks at her food during the course of the day, rather than eat a bowl of it and have done with.:o She'll
be going home tomorrow, so I must get her postcard done.
HB I hope both you and Dog are a bit better by now.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi folks
Not done anything housework wise today. Got the self-assessment tax return done and handed into the accountants. Thought I would never finish it so glad it is out of the way!0
