Natty - of course
I used the one out of the Bero book but I adapted it. The book says
100g (4oz) Shortcrust Pastry (I used a pack of ready rolled)
Filling
4oz Streaky bacon chopped (I used some leftover OOD Ham)
3oz Cheese grated (I just chopped a lump off and grated)
2 medium eggs (I used 3 as I like a firmer quiche)
1/4 pt milk
S&P
What I did
Lined a loose based quiche tin with the pastry and baked blind
Finely chopped an onion and fried it off in butter until clear.
Chopped up ham and spread over base of quiche. Topped with onion. Sprinkled over 2/3rds of the cheese.
Whisk eggs until frothy and add milk.
Pour over the cheese,ham,onion
Put a few thin slices of tomato on top and sprinkle over the rest of the cheese
Bake at 190 for 40 minsMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Am I sad that i've got bin-man envy?

Recycling men were around at 6:30, luckily OH got up and went out. bin-men around now and I emptied the upstairs bins earlier
CY you may have bin man envy but I am green with envy. Our rubbish was last collected on 18th December and it won't be collected again until 7th Jan. This is the service we get from a local council that has won awards for it's recycling targets. We are making almost daily trips to the tip as all 5 bins are full.
The house has been very quiet today. We didn't wake up until 9am and the only other inhabitants were the littlies who are very tired after 2 late nights. DS1 and 2 are staying at my SIL's following the Boxing day gathering.
I'm going to put my foot down next year and refuse to go to my SIL's. She always does boxing day but the food is. meat, served with meat with meat on the side. There is nothing even resembling a vegetable. I took a home made coleslaw and I think someone licked the bowl clean because there was none left when I went to look.
DH took the kids to the cinema and I spent the day feeding the WM and tacking the ironing. I've done loads but there will be more ironing when what's on the maiden is dry.
The house is still tidy. The hard floors have been hoovered daily and the bathrooms and kitchen given a S/S.
I'm looking forward to going to work tomorrow. DH is driving his dad up north for a funeral. MIL is not happy about either of these things. I've done everthing I can to put her mind at rest but she's not giving up her bone.
I'm tired now so will put the kitchen to bed and turn in myself. See you tomorrow.0 -
Hi everyone
Anyone heard from skintbreeder5 today? One of my friends had a baby yesterday and another had one today. Perhaps sb5 will make it 3 in a row?
Best friend popped over yesterday afternoon with her 3 kids to paint the kitchen, however, between us we blitzed DS's bedroom and changed it all around instead - looks great! She was still here at teatime so it was HM sausage rolls, LO turkey and veg, oven chips, pickles.
OH suggested we went to Bingo and she won!!!!! Only £20 but hey ho, we have a rule that "if you're there, you share", so I came home with a tenner.
After lots of chatting we all crashed out here so a quick shufty upstairs to strip our bed and remake at 1am this morning!!!!!! This was easier for me to sleep with my mate, so OH could stay on his Xbox in the lounge and then grab a sleeping bag and sleep on the sofa.
Have spent today shopping and cooking for a client which has been delivered tonight. OH and best friend have emptied the pantry and "long corridor thingy" (no other name for it!), swept them out and re-jigged my gibble whilst I was "at work". I love my mate - she's fab and sooooo selfless - she gives of her time always - far more precious than money :A
Hope you are back to being toasty warm this evening LameWolf?
Back at proper paid work tomorrow so no flying to be done until Saturday when it will be all hands to the pump as friends are arriving from Manchester for 4 days and I'll have to get the food shopping in too.
Sweet Dreams, lovely people.
TMD xxDecluttering junk and debt in 2016
Debts - Vanquis £3500 1/1/16; DFD - when I'm dead with £100,000,000+ interest  UPDATED Feb 2016 £2739.80; DFD June 2016 :j
Next - £1500 1/1/16 DFD about 10 years time. UPDATED Feb 2016 £1371.16; DFD July 2016 :j
THE GOAL IS TO HAVE NO DEBT BY THE END OF 20160 -
Iona & TMD, flybaby is still holding her ground - thankfully:D
I am resting and lurking with a cuppa after a very mini stupid o'clock flying session (if I could do it while the kettle was boiling, then that was enough!)
I am rapidly running out of lap to put the laptop, so lurking is almost as much effort as flying now, so I have only just caught up with Fred
Today (or more accurately yesterday) was Xmas round 2, when DD1 & DD2 friends from where we used to live came to visit. Had to nip out to Co-0p to get some bits, as I could bear to drive all the way to Mr T - fortunately the friends were running a bit late, so that gave me extra time to get things ready, as back garden flooded and cabin threatened to breach again....so EX was summoned again to deal :mad::mad:
Dinner was done and de-cluttered by 3, DS was forcibly extracted from the shenanigans for his nap much to his disgust and kept upstairs for quite some time.....DD1/2 & 3 worked together to keep guests entertained, stocked with snacks and drinks so I stayed off my feet all night :eek::eek:
From my mini flying sessions I could see DD3 had fed the DW once, I fed it again and collected up the evidence of snack creation, so there is another load waiting......according to the trail of crumbs and the evidence on facebook, it looks like Brownies were made and consumed in considerable quantities during the course of the evening and a trip to the bottle bank is in order tomorrow
Hoping to get all the [STRIKE]cobwebs[/STRIKE] I mean decorations down and send DD1 up into the loft to put them away as that will make things look a lot tidier, then I can concentrate on the ironing challenge, as Mount Washmore has evolved into Mount Foldmore ready to turn into Mount Ironmore :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: as the Ex M-I-L arrives on the 2nd in case the hospital keep me in on the 3rd
Right, back to sleep for a bit of shuteye for me......I will be back for at least a HH lurk later today :j:j:jThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Morning everyone. My list for today around the paid stuff (I can always catch up at the weekend as DH is working):
HHI
Re-org fridge contents
Clean cooker
Clean kitchen units
Water plants - done
Hoover/sweep/mop through house
Change all bedding
Sort out emails on home pc
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
DH is heading up the A1/M18 on route to Barnsley. The house is quiet with the littlies watching g TV and DS1, who returned last night, still asleep. DD1 returned at 10.30 last night. She is at work now, her shift started at 4.30.
Just over an hour until I go to work so I plan to shower, dress and fold all the laundry on the maiden.
I'm waiting for a text about some regular babysitting work. Any money will be put in the DS3 Singapore trip/ SS wedding fund.
I hope everyone has a good day.0
