Been doing a bit of paperwork, updating files, flinging stuff but I never seem to make much progress with it.
Fire lit, dinner cooking, DH and DS3 out for a run.
Need to do a bit of ironing later and have just washed DS2's work shirts for tomorrow and Saturday, school uniform is all done though. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
After getting restless I decided to tackle the dump pile in my room (aka to sell/store/project/homeless pile) and the boxes under one side of my bed (DD keeps moaning she doesn't know where anything is. They're clear boxes all she has to do is look!). Now the under bed boxes are labelled, and my towering 5ft high (maybe more) boxed pile is reduced to 4 boxes so far... the rest is spread over my bed and the floor
I ran out of sellotape (using it to stick large clear labels on the boxes, made out of a roll of kids art paper
) and decided to have a break and something to eat before I go back up and finish putting the last 2/3 boxes away. I also found all my giftwrapping ribbons, stick on bows and tissue paper I've spent all year looking for
:o They'll be homed in the "gift centre" box under my bed so I don't loose them again
Off to the kitchen now to see what I can rustle up to eat that isn't chocolate or biscuits
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
HI all. Not much flying today although pleased how I'm gradually eating my way through the fridge and worktop contents.......for once I didn't grossly over-cater in the food dept. Took my mum to catch her bus home this morning so did a good rally round the sales and got a few bargains. Haven't dared get on the scales this week, but after the last few month's success, decided to treat myself to some bargains in the Pineapple shop as all my gym/zumba clothes are old, scruffy and prone to working their way down my hips during some of the livelier numbers....purchases helped by lovely young shop attendant about 35yrs younger than me who managed to sound interested and advised me on what to wear with what, and chatted about where I did zumba!
Got home and had "lunch" around 3.30 then lost momentum for planned hoover and tidy in favour of Fiddler on the Roof and the Addams Family!! Oh well, start with renewed enthusiasm tomorrow.
Whoever mentioned decluttering chocolates, well said.
Actually I did put one washing machine load on. Big deal.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Hello all, and thanks for the list.
[STRIKE]Do your dailies[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Put away all wrapping paper, tags and cards until next year (noting where!)[/STRIKE] These live in the cupboard over the wardrobe all year around.
[STRIKE]Delete some emails, old links[/STRIKE] Do this as I check emails.
[STRIKE]Recycle any Christmas catalogues etc[/STRIKE] Only had the Boots catalogue and threw that away ages ago.
Change a bed or 2 - Only one bed here which is done on Friday
[STRIKE]Hoover upstairs/bedrooms[/STRIKE]
Binbag dance.. how many of those infernal wire ties did we get? Dustbin to full to do a bin bag dance. No wire ties here though.[STRIKE]Bins emptied and cleaned out.[/STRIKE] Do this when they are full
[STRIKE]S&S kitchen and bathroom[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Find home for some of the presents[/STRIKE]
Did this on Christmas morning.
[STRIKE]When is everyone back to school?????????[/STRIKE]
We went back to work today, does that count?0 -
Tots away to bed early, although DD had nearly 2hrs nap this afternoon! We have taken some toys upstairs, and they enjoyed playing with those for an hour whilst I tidied their wardrobes and drawers.
Couple of crates of Xmas stuff in loft now so spare bed is clear. Kitchen cleaned up after dinner, but there is a train track and a jigsaw on the LR floor. DR is clean and clear, apart from the airer, which is covered in laundered Xmas table linen.
A productive today, but I need an early night too. My eyes are burning from lack of sleep, so a little reading time then bed for me.
Hopefully a peaceful night...Bossymoo

Evening flypeople. I didn't get any emails or phone calls at the paid stuff today so just did a few catch up jobs. Flying wise, as well as the dailies, I've S&S kitchen and bathroom, emptied all bins and sorted recycling.
DH made our tea (with enough left for my lunch tomorrow) and just for a change I've actually already done the washing and wiping up!
Tomorrow is paid stuff again, and I've some system testing to do, but will try to fit in HHI and whatever else I can.
Enjoy your evening everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Just what you need to feel good about your own mess
Quite sad how it started.
Had a lovely tea with HM quiche that I havent made in years. Kids demolished the lot so its a good job I saved half of my GF one for DH who hasnt eaten yet. Just spending the evening chilling now as eldest kids helped clear away.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

I've been bored all day, just been doing bits of nothing really..lolI would like to take my decorations down too but will hang on a little while longer.
I'm slowly taking mine down bit by bit - but I am hanging on to the tree for a bit longer as it looks so pretty up the end of the room
