objectively having gone onto their facebook page having seen this they come across really badly don't they - sorry for lastkiss/lesley that you have been treated this way -

monkey.co.uk couldn't buy bad publicity like this if they tried and ought to edit their own comments on their own page which are unprofessional and obnoxious to say the least

I know I come across as a bit naive at times, but actually, it's more that I prefer to see the good in folks unless there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Usually when there are 2 polar sides to an argument, both sides are so stuck in their position, that they cannot, or will not consider what it's like from the other perspective. I don't think that is true for our Last Kiss, who has been reasonable from the start, saying if she doesn't get her prize, she will accept it and move on.

Monkey, the thing is that I have a sense that you are quite possibly not the bad guys you are being painted as being. But with respect to you, I do think that you are missing the main point here. That is about how it feels to have been selected as a winner for such a fabulous prize, then find you have lost it because you didn't search and find it within 24 hours. Just think about how you would feel if that was you. It seems to me that you run these comps for excellent reasons, but what is happening is that the lucky ones are those who didn't win, because they walk away saying, 'oh well'. But the 'winners' go away really upset and disappointed, because the odds are against them making it in time to claim. I'm not saying that makes you dishonest. I would never throw that at someone without being certain of what I was saying. What I am saying is that it's not right, sensible or fair to keep doing this to people - the fact that this is not your intention, doesn't let you off allowing it to keep happening.

I have also 'unliked' your FB page. Know why? Not out of anger, or feeling that you are definitely a bad company. It's because I don't want to risk 'winning' one of your prizes, and end up feeling 'sick to my stomach' when I don't claim it in time.

I still have a hope that you think about it again, and award the winners their prizes, as well as changing your terms so that you can contact future winners, giving them every chance to claim their prizes. Obviously cost is a factor, I don't blame you for not wanting to shell out extra. Suggestion: Run 2 less comps this year, and instead spend that prize money on settling this. We, and other potential customers, will still enter the comps if they run a bit longer and there are less prizes. After all, it's a great comp - as long as we actually stand a fair chance of getting the prize if we win it

To all MSEr's that have shown their support here and on fb thank you very much, I really do very much appreciate it.

This whole thing is making me ill, and no iPad or anything else for that matter is worth it. I have accepted I will never see the prize I won, but as I said before I just hope that now the IPM are involved they can stop this happening to anyone else.

Let the IPM do their stuff - they will come through for you and then I would demand an apology off the company - sorry "joke" that is monkey. I am absolutely appalled by what I have read on here & facebook and am very glad I steered clear!!

I have my doubts about the second "winner", they said they had claimed in time but did nothing when Monkey posted they had still not heard from them and still did nothing when Monkey posted again that they were out of time. Their first post was 3 days later when the (possibly) late claim for the ipad had been made. I do not know if the 24hr deadline was in any T&Cs for the ipad as I couldn't find any but it clearly was for the other competition and they are allowed to that.

Right so I was reading this thread and Im sure that Monkey came on and gave a big speech about how great they are and now I can't see it. Am I going mad?

They've also blocked and deleted me now. Really mature. :cool:

No - you are not going mad. I saw it too. They could have deleted their own post I suppose, but the funny thing is that I seem to recall that someone quoted their whole post and responded to it, but that person's quote does not show now. I tried googling monkeyresponse and it brought up a post on this site, but I am not sure how you search cached pages, so cannot prove that we are not both going mad.

I've found the post via google search of cached pages so neither of you are going mad. However I think both the original Monkey post and the reply that quoted it were probably deleted for a reason, so I won't post a link to the cached page on here.

Winner for the 2 ipads has been drawn and is Erin Baker. Quite conveniently hidden away down the competition post and not a post of its own.
I found out through someone posting it in the winners circle so have tagged any friends of hers who are in there so someone may be able to get in touch with her. If anyone here knows her can you also please let her know.
Says on the post they made she has 72 hours to claim but comp post says 24 hrs.
