Well I made a comment on the page a couple of hours ago about giving 28 days to claim a prize and how I only went to the facebook page because someone was being rude to my friends and I did comment about their reputation spreading across social media.
Just had notification that someone else has commented on the post and my post has disappeared. Also - not sure if it's only me but I can't comment on the page anymore...
Love the comment about only one side of the story - then posts get deleted!!0 -
Thank goodness English suggested screenshots, I think before the IPM even get a chance to look at the page they will have altered the conversations to suit
Terrible that they have deleted your post Coffee
Think you are right about the affiliate situation English, although whoever it is posting on facebook has stated they are not the owner, but that the owner is fully aware and I presume by the way the post was worded backing them fully.
Nothing more that can be done now until the IPM have done their investigation early in the New Year. As Tamalyn said they are not giving an inch.

Have just been on to have a look and I have had my posts deleted and am blocked from posting too. Only what I expected really. Another 2 screenshots taken from their comments just now.
To me it also seems suspicious for a page that only started in October to have over 11,000 likers. I do know there are websites and places like ebay where you can buy likers all you need to do is type facebook likes into the search on ebay to fetch up loads.
I personally think that it could be someone who has just set up the website monkey to earn a few quid as an affiliate and probably not a real company at all.
Probably best to let the IPM deal with him/her as too much hassle from everyone could force him/her to close their FB page down and disappear which would make it hard for the IPM to take any action.
Tonkatol do you still have your messages you sent to them. Was it through FB as thinking about things they have admitted to seeing your 2nd message so your other message to them must also have been seen by them as they always come up together and can be looked back on a bit like a conversation.
If you want the screenshots pm me your email and i will forward them to you.
I really hope both of you winners get something from this, hate seeing people lose out.0 -
I have just read this thread and just wanted to add that I hope you both get it sorted. The way they have treated you is awful.
An Ipad is one of the prizes we all hope to win so I can imagine how upset you must be. I really really hope it gets sorted out for you xTotal 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000
2018 total £4062/2017 total £2260/ 2016 total £2025/ 2015 total £3809.0 -
Under normal circumstances a company will back down and do the right thing if only to avoid the bad publicity.
Unfortunately this all looks as if you are dealing with an immature student who has set up a website based entirely on affiliate links to a real insurance quotes company (Quotezone)
Their actions have been unbelievable childish and spiteful. When the winner of the second prize came forward saying they did actually put in a claim a legit company would have given them the benefit of the doubt. However instead of giving the prize to the person who actually won the prize they decided to give money to charity instead, out of pure spite. It also proves the prize, that had to be claimed so urgently, never actually existed since they still had the cash in hand to give to the charity.
When I say "set up a website" I mean at least two.
If you visit the web developer "thefloatingfrog" you find
"Monkey.co.uk is a business evolution from the guys at CarInsurance.org.uk"
CarInsurance.org.uk carries a single endorsement:"Comparing and picking out a policy from lots of insuranceMonkey.co.uk carries this one:
providers was made much easier with the help of this great site."
Lucy F, Bradford UKComparing and picking out a policy from lots of insurance providers was made much easier with the help of this great site. I found the car insurance policy I was looking and I saved £230 on my renewal offer price. On top of this I felt humbled that a donation of £10 was made to Cancer Research UK - amazing!Seems Lucy F gets around and is the only person willing to endorse either of these sites.

CarInsurance.org.uk is another Quotezone affiliate site
The website privacy/terms pages are a complete joke and just seem to have been copied and hacked from various sources
According to their website Terms:
We control and operate this Site from our offices in the United States of America. We endeavor to operate the Site system in conformance with the laws of Minnesota and the United States of America.
Then they say:
The Terms and Conditions and the relationship between you and us shall be governed by the laws of the United Kingdom
And in their privacy policy:
We control and operate this Site from our offices in the United States of America. We endeavor to operate the Site system in conformance with the laws of Georgia and the United States of America.
It's not clear if the site is actually based in the UK, in Minnesota, or Georgia but CarInsurance.org.uk makes repeated references to "auto mobiles"
I wouldn't be surprised if the 24 hour (3day) claim period is there simply to make it less likely they will ever have to give out a prize. Even when a claim is made they simply have to wait 24 hours (3days), say they didn't receive the claim, and then say it is now too late. That would explain why they are determined to stick to this rule and why no one gets a prize, There was probably never any intention of giving out prizes.
I'm just waiting for Lucy F from Bradford to be announced as the winner of the 2 iPads.
Just to finish .... another website that carries a single endorsement from Lucy F
This time a loans broker company that has attracted loads of complaints
www.myloan.co.uk"Comparing and picking out a loan was made much easier with the help of this great site."

It also proves the prize, that had to be claimed so urgently, never actually existed since they still had the cash in hand to give to the charity.
Is there any evidence that they've actually donated anything to charity? I doubt I am the only one thinking it's VERY unlikely that they actually did.0 -

I have looked but there is no evidence of them having given £10,000 to charity as they claim.
They don't have a fundraiser account at JustGiving and have left no comments on the charity pages to say they had donated £1000 to each one.
The web site states "You can also link through to the JustGiving page to see the live donation amount." when in fact there is no way of doing that.
They could of course have made anonymous donations but if it was me I would have made sure everyone could see the donations.Well, you know, my ancestry isn't all hamster.

are you worried you would then have to honour the prize, other companies give 28 days and manage fine, some give a week which is what i think should be the minimum
giving 24 hours or even 3 days is just ridiculous
people do take more than 3 days off the internet, i took almost 4 off this christmas, if i had of won a prize with your company in that time i would have lost out which would hardly be fair
a week should be sufficient but 3 days is laughable and 24 hours is disgusting
the whole thing is a farce and i agree that i dont think there was a prize to start with0 -
I feel sick to my stomach at how ugly this whole thing has become.
To all MSEr's that have shown their support here and on fb thank you very much, I really do very much appreciate it.
This whole thing is making me ill, and no iPad or anything else for that matter is worth it. I have accepted I will never see the prize I won, but as I said before I just hope that now the IPM are involved they can stop this happening to anyone else.
I'm not going to come back to this thread or the fb page. I refuse to feed the troll or add any more fuel.

So sorry it's making you ill and really hope you get something from this. Good luck with the IPM and all screenshots I have taken can be emailed over to you if you need them.
Well done Hamster on all your findings. I couldn't find any evidence of them having given anything to charity either when I was looking yesterday.0
