Has anyone else got a curry cooker? Mine is a Kenwood. It's like a slow cooker, but a bit faster ...
I bought it when we had about 30 people coming round and did a chilli in the slow cooker and a curry in the curry cooker. It was brilliant.
Anyway, in my curry cooker today is sausage casserole - sliced onions and carrots, a pack of six sausages cut into bits, some kidney beans and a jar of pasta sauce that I got cheap from Mr T. Will have it over pasta later.0 -

thanks for your congratulations.....I can't work out how to thank people on here lol
the lasagne went well (I thought) but when i made the white sauce i can never seem to get it right, always comes out a bit thick, i whisked it a lot, decided it would be fine and bunged it in the slow cooker.
I hadn't even thought that it might stick to the side, it did a bit but wasnt hard to prise away. the main problem was that lasagna is in layers, although i cooked it in layers when i dished it up it all kind of flopped onto the spatula so it was a big mess and didnt look very appetising but i thought that it tasted nice.
sadly my fiancee said that they sauce tasted like mushed up bread
lol but on the bright side the rest is in the freezer for my lunch at work on saturday more for me :beer:0 -
Iam hoping to try home made baked beans next! Just printed off a recipe.
I made baked beans today - from an '80s recipe book by a guy called Glynn Christian. It is very simple to do but apart from beans, garlic, onion and tomato he also includes some chopped bacon and sliced smoked sausage. No good if you are a veggie of course. Thought that would make several good meals for DH for the occasions when I am away - he knows how to cook rice or to make a jacket potato to go with it."Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -

Just did a curry yesterday, jar of sauce but added loads of veg - am loving that farmfoods has bags of loads of veggies for 39p at the mo; carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, onions, rhubarb...
Today I'm gonna do sausage casserole again - definately our fave! Sausages taste so good done in the slow cooker (cooked first of course).0 -

Marfan and Blu, you can put any joint of meat you like in the slow cooker with any liquid you like - stock, wine, beer, ginger ale, some people like coke with a gammon joint - I think this is a Nigella idea. I've done lumps of lamb on the bone with red wine, beef with beer - it's so tasty and simple.Wendy x0

I made ham stock yesterday and pasta sauce overnight. I about to put meatballs in some of the sauce in the slow cooker. I plan to freeze the rest of the sauce.GC 2011 Feb £626.89/£450 NSD3/7 March £531.26/£450 April £495.99/£500 NSD 0/7 May £502.79/£500
