Well, for the first time ever I have the carcass of my chicken, an onion and some dried vegetables(no other veggies in the house) in my slow cooker, usually I throw the carcass away but as I have the postXmas severe money tightness I thought I would make a chicken stew with real stock. I have eaten chicken for the last several days.............chicken with leftover mash/or leftover roasties n yorkies(thank you Aunt Bessie!) and I'm going to have chicken and mash AGAIN today, but any leftover chicken will now go to my soup, which I will freeze as I'm a little tired of chickenKEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0

I have just cleared out the veg basket in time for tomorrows asda delivery so in mine is
6 carrots , a swede, 2 leeks and about 6 sticks of celery, 3l of veg stock made from swiss boullion and a tsp of dried thyme. Just put it on now and I will leave it on low until morning before switching it to 'keep warm' for lunch

This inspired me to use up my 'tired' veg so I put 3 carrots, couple of potatoes, 1 1/2 onions (!), some mushrooms with leftover turkey stock, some tomato puree and lots of pearl barley. Will have it for dinner tomorrow with some lovely crusty bread.0 -
