Turkey Mince Chilli in mine today.

2 large onions and 5 cloves of finely chopped garlic softened in oil with chilli, cayenne and paprika then chopped mixed peppers added. Browned 500gms Turkey Mince added. Tin of chopped tomatoes, Red Kidney Beans (soaked overnight and boiled for 20mins then simmered for 30mins), couple of handfuls of red lentils, remaining small amount of sweetcorn, jar of SmartPrice Chilli Sauce, couple of cubes of Tomato Puree, a Bay Leaf, small handful of dried mixed herbs and some boiling water. Will check later to see if it needs thickening in some way - possibly with a little cornflour.

Looks/smells good so far . Will give it a taste later this afternoon and may stir in some Red Dragon Sweet Chilli Sauce if it needs a 'sweet kick'.

It could do with some mushrooms going in, but haven't got any and want today to be a NSD !

This amount will be split into two meals x 2 and then the remainder will go into some individual portions for topping jacket spuds etc.

    Curry today.

I put vegetables in too. Turnip, carrots, onion and then diced pork.
All mixed together with an Asda 9p curry sauce.
Will do boil in the bag rice @ dinner time.

First time of cooking this so we will see how it turns out?
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.

its been a while since i posted in this thread but rest assured my sc has taken a battering, i've done apple pie filling (not enough sugar though) a beef and onion and mushroom pie filling, sausages casseroles, i cooked my first whole chicken in it last week - had to really stuff it in cos it was a big chuck but it was delish, and made further pie filling, sandwich filler, and curry from all the meat - chuck in the sc is the only way to go! oh and got a proper jellied stock from that too, i didnt add any liquid to the sc, but had enough stock once chilled and fat scraped off to make a delicious cream of chicken soup, it was the tastiest stock i've ever tasted, so rich and meaty it was almost unbelieveable :D

today i have deboned 3 large pork chops, cubed the meat up coated in a flour, paprika, and steakhouse schwatrz mix, browned it off in crushed garlic and butter til all the juices absorbed, then placed it on a bed of finely sliced onions in the sc, adding a cupfull of pork stock to which i'd already added rosemary and parsly - it smells good and looks very nice - i hope it tastes as good!:rotfl:
