I've tried Delia's slow cooker recipe for Christmas pudding but found it very heavy, almost like shop bought. But I've found with this recipe its a lot lighter and I much prefer it.

I've got an 'odds and sods soup' in mine today :).

Lots of trimmings/peelings from carrots, swede, leeks, cauli/broccoli stalks, some red, green, yellow chopped peppers (only the bits from around the tops), four lonely, withered looking tiny plum tomatoes, celery salt, dried mixed herbs, 2 ham stock cubes and 2 veggie stock cubes. It smells delicious and I've had a sneaky taste of the cooking liquid and its . It can have a bit longer and then cool down before being 'whizzied'.

This time last year, absolutely everything in it (apart from herbs/stock cubes) would have been thrown out :j.

Perfect timing thank you! :A Cooked a whole chicken yesterday using SG's "recipe", absolutely fantastic :T and was wondering what to do with the leftover meat. Thought about doing a pie but didn't want to buy butter to get NSD :o

So today will be chicken risotto with easy-cook rice :D

Overnight in our Slo-cooker, a brisket of beef on a bed of chopped carrots and onions has been marinading in red wine :D

Will probably switch it on about mid-day to start cooking for tonight's dinner.
