Hi Cat,
is that the silver one? I bought one of theirs a couple of weeks ago for £7 (might be the best £7 I have spent) and it is doing a really good job so far.... need more recipes....0 -
I have meatballs, 2 carton of passata,, garlic onions and mushrooms and slug of wine with pepper in mine. Made 36 meatballs out of 1 pack of £3 mince - enough for 6 meals. Got some cheese and onion bread in BM. All smells delicious.
Are you cooking the meatballs in the SC? Do you brown in the pan first or just add to SC with the sauce?0 -
Hi Rich, yes its silver and black and totally round not oval.
You don't need recipes as such - SC's are great for potluck, you can put anything in them. Just with fluid less is more. I've got a SC cookery book but I've not used it - too faffy and you have to go shop for wierd ingredients. I prefer to look what meat and veg I've got and go from there.
I love putting booze in the SC with meat .... total lush LOL!Wendy x0 -

Pork is good in the sc cooker with mushrooms, onions, apples and cider but as I don't drink cider I tend to use cider vinegar and/or wine. The liquid can be thickened before serving with cornflour and the addition of some cream if available is quite good.
Serve with potatoes: new or baked.
I make my own wine so have lots available. The occasional home made wine disaster eg too dry or too sweet can often be really good used in cooking.0 -
Hi, today I have a piece of brisket from the butcher, some of the remnants of our organic box (turnip, sweet potato, etc.) with some carrots, onions and a goodly splash of last night's merlot.
Looking forward to teatime!

I'm planning my weeks menu and I was wondering if anyone has a recipe for B-B-Q breast of lamb. My mum used to do it in the slo-cooker and it was delicious!
Working late so would love to come home to something 'ready-made'!!One life.0 -

i have to answer this one!!!!! LOL
if you have a look at my recent posts (page 176/177--i think), i cooked a pork joint in apple juice with apples, onions, mushrooms.
it turned out lovely, fussey oh and dd loved it (both had 2nds).
put veg in bottom, then meat on top, i put 1 liter of juice in and cooked on low for about 6 hours.
you can put just a little juice in if you wish. the meat and veg had a sweet taste, not too much though.
served with jacket potatoe. yum yumI SPOKE TO A WISE OLD MAN THE OTHER DAY.
