In my slow cooker today...

Swishy I think normally the s/c creates lots of steam which then drips back into the pot and creates sauce, then the more sauce the more steam etc etc. I have never had an issue, rarely have to put loads of liquid in, just enough to start things off or as per recipe I am following.MFW #185

I've just put together the Caribbean chicken recipe from the MR book. only thing is I'm out of soy sauce and worcester sauce, guess I can add it later. Smells good, looks gorgeous with all those bright colours.
But then if my remoska comes today I won't careDC.

never heard of a dual pot slow cooker ???
what make is it and where did u get it from please ??0 -
Bleugh to caribbean chicken effort, really didn't like it, too much liquid too sweet, obviously no soy sauce had an effect.
Need to try something less fussy methinks.DC.

Oh no I hate it went SC dinner comes out yuck
I'm just about to serve up SC chicken casserole in giant yorkshire puds as mister has just walked in from work. Used chicken thighs, put it in at 12 and I've already fished the bones out as all the meat just fell off mmmmmmmm :TMarried mum to 4, new addition expected 02/07/140 -
Today I'm cooking spicy bean stew in the slow cooker. I've taken the advice from some of the other threads on this forum (mainly Mazb's thread ref feeding a family for £20 for a month - amazing!) and am bulking it out with red lentils, oatmeal and grated carrot. It looks too watery to me but the posts on that thread say that's needed because the lentils and oatmeal absorb the liquid as they cook. Time will tell...
Will be doing a chilli later on in the week - am going to make much more use of the slow cooker now winter is arriving!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Can anyone else with the MR 6.5l slow cooker answer a question for me please? I'm just using mine for the first time today (brisket of beef, hope it turns out alright). Is the lid meant to be tight fitting or not? I would have thought it was meant to be but mine is quite loose fitting IYKWIM, if i push the lid one way or the other it leaves a space - is this normalAMAZON SELLERS CLUB MEMBER 0082 :hello:0

Yes, the lid is meant to be loose fitting, it sounds fine. Best of luck with the brisket of beef!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0
