1 green pepper finely sliced
3 mushrooms finely sliced

tin of value chopped tomatoes
tablespoon tomato puree
tin of Mr S' own brand baked beans
1/2 teaspoon of hot chili powder
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
Brown mince & onion in a little oil on the hob. Add shwartz spices, green pepper and mushrooms cook for 1 minute, add chopped toms, beans & puree. Bring to boil, add a little salt & pepper, bung in slow cooker top with a little water, stir and leave for however long.....Serve with rice, top chili with some grated strong cheese.

Jules, I believe the Schwartz spices do a mild chilli powder as well as a hot one, I guess the only way to work this one out is trial and error. At worst you'll just have savoury mince.
I've not been brave enough to do a chilli or any mince dishes in my SC yet. I seem to have issues with the liquid amounts.DC.

Asda do a Chilli Sauce in their SmartPrice range (around 32p). It does have some kidney beans in it, but they are easily sieved out. This is the sauce that I always use and is definitely not a hot one at all. I would describe it as mild - because I always have to add more chilli to the meal and then OH adds Tabasco Sauce as well because he likes stuff to produce steam coming out of his ears.
Depending on the size of your SC/how much mince you're using/how much 'other stuff' (peppers, mushrooms, onions) you're using, you may need a couple of jars of sauce, or a jar of sauce and a tin of chopped tomatoes.0 -

In mine, I have braising steak, mushrooms, onions, beef stock, a dollop of dijon mustard and a good dose of Guinness (found a bottle lurking from when we used to buy it for our late aunty). SC is on "low" at the moment. About 45 minutes before the end of cooking time, I will make some sage and horseradish dumplings, whack the SC up to "high" and pop the dumplings in! Serving with carrots and broccoli - YUM!!Obedient women are never remembered in History!
