Oh and re the metallic taste, the foil wasn't in the liquid, The potatoes were held above the level of the sauce on a little rack.

I assumed not but even so condensation etc. Was the rack plastic?

If anyone is looking for a small sized slow cooker, I have just bought a 1.5l one from B&M stores for £8.99.

I have a 2.5l oval sc which is fine, but as I am normally only cooking for two of us I only fill half of it. I know you can double up and freeze half which is fine for chilli, spag bol etc but sometimes you just don't batch cook.

Anyway, it is only 120w so won't cost a lot to run and is about the size of a medium sized pan but a lot deeper. The crock pot measures approx 17cm (internal measurements, doesn't include the handles) x 11cm deep.

It isn't an oval shape but round so I can use this more for smaller items and my larger oval one for whole chicken, ham hock etc.

I will try and put a pic on later whem my camera has recharged.

It's stainless steel outer with a black crock, has low high and Auto heat settings, has an idicator light and can be put in the dishwasher.

I would think it would be ideal for anyone who is short of space or has a caravan etc or is only cooking for one or two people.

I would imagine it would be ideal to give the kids if they are away at uni.

    ;)

Here you are, I have put a normal sized can of soup by the side so you get an idea of the size. ;)

Chilli in mine. Will post details later as am at work and popped on here to ask a question...... is there such a thing as a slow cooker that has two bowls/one bowl split in two that means u can cook 2 things at once (like casserole and rice pud?) or is that just a wild and whacky idea I have in my head???:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning
