I'm using my sc for the first time and am trying out Aussielle's Pork and Mushrooms first posted on the recipe thread in 2004 - cubed pork, mushrooms, red & green peppers, tin of chopped toms, red wine
, parika and worcester sauce.
Will serve with rice and let you know what we think later on tonight. Can't wait :j0 -

Think I will plan ahead and bulk cook, plan to put mince, onion, garlic and gravy in the slow cooker so I can make a chilli, cottage pie and lasagne (by adding extras ie kidney beans, peppers etc at end)
We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, although 1 is not keen on mince! Going to bribe him with pudding!
How much meat would you use?
Can I bulk out with oats and gratted carrot as I intend to freeze 2 of the dishes? Not using lentils as I find these add a pepperry taste.
Thanks0 -

That's exactly what they were like - very off-putting! I won't be doing that again.:oDFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Yes you can bulk with oats and carrot. I've tried oats and didn't like the texture, but a lot of others have done it successfully. I'd start with a small amount and see how you go!0 -

i don't like the thin ones done in the slow cooker, i usually use the walls ones in the blue wrapper, they are pork and quite thick, i brown them first then cut them up and they are quite nice0 -
This thread is quiet today! Is everyone enjoying the sun in a pub garden? (I wish!)
