well it's been on high for about 3 1/2 hours now and seems fine, bubbling away. I would normally only cook on high for about 4 hours anyway, so gonna chance it I think....

What type of pork, diced or joint?

was a joint but I removed all the fat and cut it into smaller pieces. Just done a search on the old-style board and the posts have all said that so long as pork is cooked on high for the last hour, should be ok. I'm giving it four so reckon I'm alright :).

It smells yummy, gonna have it with sweetcorn fritters and cheesy rice bake

My mushroom chicken thing was so nice :D I was actually quite surprised since it was basically only mushroom soup and mushrooms...

No slow cooker today, off out for a meal with my mum for mothers day.

In mine today: a batch of apples, peeled and cored and filled with mincemeat. They are sitting in some mulled wine, it's all bubbling away nicely. I got a load of apples from friends and thought I'd try to turn them into a pudding that can be frozen in smaller portions. If it works, I'll do another lot tomorrow - if it doesn't, I will make a giant tub of apple sauce.

    Hi,

Today I cooked Rice Pudding in my SC - thanks to whomever recommended it in one of these threads it was definitely yummy just like making it in the oven. I will make this pudding again in the SC for sure. Thanks

That sounds nice. How did they turn out?

Got beef stew in mine today.

I finally got around to playing with my slowcooker for the first time last night (I've recently decided to teach myself to cook, and I'm really enjoying it).

So, first successful recipie = Rice Pudding. I remember my Dad's homemade rice pudding always being nicer than the tinned stuff, and it seems that slow cooker rice pudding is nicer to! My housemate was quite impressed - I won't be surprised if her and her BF manage to eat most of what's left before I get home tonight. :D

I have some roast pork left over from last nights Sunday dinner, and I'm stuck between trying to do something in the slowcooker with it, or just sticking it into a stirfry. Any suggestions?

I managed to break my SC 6.5l and was very annoyed. Have had to go back to my old smaller one 3.5l so no more roasts for a while. I am cooking sausage and bean hotpot to be served with mash later yum!!!
