Just done a huge curry in mine for tomorrow - aduki beans, sweet potato (big bag for 25p in Morrisons!), carrots, cauliflower and peas. Smells yummy and it's not even been cooked yet! Can't wait to get home tomorrow. Brown rice already cooked, just needs reheating tomorrow. I love my slow cooker!

Tried just putting sausages in, on their own, for tonight's sausage & mash. Worked a treat. Really soft and yummy. No spitting fat or grill pan to deal with either - result!

Chicken chasseur in mine today, have experimented with adding some leftover bacon bits that needed using up.

Does anyone use the Colmans style packet sauces in their slow cooker?
Am wondering if they are any good and if the liquid content needs to adjusted at all?

    Thanks

    Hi Icey77

I have done in the past and I found that a pint of water was enough... I think the packet says 3/4 of a pint?

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning
  • Going to try a sun dried tomato risotto day.

Was wondering how everyone else got on with theirs?

Had a batch cooking weekend. Yesterday in the intellichef slow cooker did a hot chicken curry, and in the regular SC did a mild chicken curry. 4 generous portions of each frozen.

Today, got a steak chilli in the intellichef, and a ham joint in the regular SC. Once the chilli is done, will be another chicken thing going in there. Not sure what yet!

Half a leg of lamb with rosemary. On a bed of onion to keep it from touching the bottom and a tiny amount of water to come half way up the onion. Hopefully it will be falling apart by 7pm.

Did a boned and rolled breast of lamb in mine the other day with a packet of stew veggies and a Colemans lamb stew seasoning packet (best before 2004!!!). Let it go cold in the pot, scraped as much fat off as possible and decanted it into a pyrex bowl and into the fridge, scraped even more fat off once it had chilled, sliced it and covered it with the gravy and veg and some potato pastry and baked it in the oven - yummy!
