Today cooked a whole chicken for te first time EVER. was always scared of doing it in the oven in case it wasn't cooked but after reading about folks on here doing them in their slow cooker I thought I would give it a go-it was fab! :j :j :j I put half a clementine and half a red onion in the cavity and it tasted great.
I have never seen so much meat come off one bird! (and it was WHoopsied so only cost £2.35) we have both had a nice roast dinner and have enough leftovrs for lunches for work tomorrow and thinking a lemony chicken thing with the leftover white meat for tea tomorrowRemember to always be yourself-unless you suck. Cheap piece of lamb, carrots, onions, celery, lentils, barley and split peas.
Served it with baked potatoes and lovely peppery cabbage.
Amazing, melt-in-the-mouth lamb. Mmmm.
Just enough left to put in the freezer for DS1 to take back to uni.0 -
Leg of lamb with some rosemary and garlic....covered in a Honey and cider sauce which I started on stove first just add a bit of cornflour ...Served with Mushrooms brocili and roast potatoes....The lamb just fell of the bone and the sauce was yummy.
A bottle of red wine went down well with it:DFebuary NSD 8/14 March NSD 9/110 -
Braising steak, onions and mushrooms just added a bay leaf and some beef stock. Served with yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes, mashed carrots and swede and cauliflower, went down a treat when my lot returned from the rugby match.MFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

Tonight's dinner is in the slow-cooker - chili. Going to leave it on low all day. Kidney beans, black beans, sweetcorn, chopped red onion, chopped tomatoes, cumin, cayenne pepper, chilli powder, garlic powder and cocoa powder...I'm trying to remember what else went in, I think there was one more thing!
The ingredient I forgot was tomato paste!0
