Wow Lauren, £1 for steak, you are a true money saver
Good for you. I'll have try that - I always go to the butchers after I have dropped my little girl at school in the morning so maybe that's why I never get any bargains. The meat from our butchers is so much nicer than meat I have bought previously from the supermarket.
Mmmm, beef stroganoff. I have never made that before. Is it easy make Sarah?0 -
Hi lbt,
There's an earlier thread with exactly the same title that should give you inspiration so I'll add your thread to it to keep the suggestions together.
For more ideas it's well worth a browse through The Complete Slow Cooker Collection too.

Some cheap beef from Tesco with lots of veggies from the allotment. This is for tomorrow and i do prefer my stew cooked the day before. Today we are having cauliflower cheese from freezer made when we had a glut of caulies earlier. This winter I will try and cook more meals in S.C to save on fuel bills. I do think there is a thread on here somewhere for meals in S.C as my book is a bit basic. I think you can cook a whole chicken or joint of meat in them. What a good savings.0

Yesterday there was a huge batch of chilli with loads of extra veg for tonight's tea.
Today nothing (the pot needs washing)
Thursday there will be a load of dried butterbeans (as long as I remember to soak them first )working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
An update - the soup was not very popular in my house, girls refused point blank to eat it (very unusual) as it was too sweet, and the breakfast fruit tastes a bit bitter but I am not sure why?? Not sure what to add to make it more palatable. It was supposed to go on our porridge tomorrow, but it might put them off their porridge
Sarah - there's nothing wrong with a helping hand sometimesI do make the majority of our food and I enjoy doing it, but originally I started making everything myself because my little girl has food allergies
