Today in my slow cooker I have a beef and veg soup. I put it on last night and then overslept!! It still needed a bit longer so it's been turned up for a while to cook the veg a bit more.

So far everything I've cooked has been fine but I can't seem to cook soup in it!! The low setting is rubbish despite what the recipe says.

The medium setting never seems to work when I cook rice pudding either, is it ok to cook it on high?

I love reading all the posts in this thread, it's given me loads of ideas to try things that I wouldn't normally try. Thankyou :)

    I used one on here

    50g pudding rice
    1 pint milk

lots of recipes say 50g sugar but I used around 30g as we found it too sweet. It does soak up a lot of milk and cooks in about 2 hours in mine. Thats only enough for 4 people so double up for more.

    Hi

How many portions of rice pudding does this make and what setting do you cook it. Also can you free rice pudding as thinking of making it for dd who is 18 months and loves rice pudding (sorry bought) so thought I would give it a go making some.
  • Making Beef casserole tomorrow (beef marninated in guinness, carrots, onions, celery, peas, sweetcorn, passata, garlic).

I have been reading that you can add lentils and porridge oats to make you meal go further.

Can they be added to beef casserole?
Also how and when you do you add?
Do you use one or the other or both?
Can you notice and taste them?
    How much to add?

    Sorry for all the questions
