thats what im cooking tomorrow for first time, so let me know how it goes. Im not using prunes, apricots. WHen my friend made it, she put the cous cous on top for about an hour i think. I mentioned it earlier in the thread. It blended in and was like a nice crust. Not sure if i can be that adventurous.

Chicken casserole this evening was delish and 3 portions frozen, and two eaten! :T My friend said it was the best dinner he had in a long time! And its from rosemary conleys so is low gi. Win win! seems you can make quite healthy food using scs.

Quelle disaster for me tonight! I dropped the body of my crockpot. So far noluck on-line for a repleacement, I may be be in need of a new slow cooker.

does puff pastry behave okay in the slow cooker then? i do dumplings in my beef stew which work out fine but never thought to top with pastry. how long do you give it? thanks x

My slow cooker always seems to have something slightly random in it... today we have half a chicken and some slices of fresh orange. I have no idea how it will turn out

I am pregnant with no 2 and have got very lazy with the home cooking. I would like to get a SC recipe book for tasty family meals, the sort of thing I can quickly prepare and stick on in the morning and dish up in the evening. When no 2 arrives i will be sleep deprived and only able to follow simple instructions!! We eat mainly chicken and beef. I love puddings too. Any recommendations please?

Thats just what I am after but had no luck in WH Smith or Waterstones yesterday. All the books had receipes that you wouldn't use.

Let me know if you find one.

in my sc yesterday was a whole chicken with veg and stock....it was good...and im using remains today to make a pie....very ecomomical
