I've got a vegetable and tomatoe base sauce going in mine, but it seems very sweet, any suggestions to what i can add to make it more "meaty"?
I have added some beef stock, but it does not seem to have helped, i also tried some worcester sauce but its still quite sweet?
TIA0 -

In mine today - Beef Curry
3 large braising steaks diced
Jar of sainsburys cheapy curry sauce (the 4p one)
1/2 an onion, in half-rings
1 1/2 peppers, diced
Can chopped tomatoes
generous teaspoon of hot and spicy curry paste
teaspoon of hot curry powder
teaspoon diced garlic
Hoping it's going to be hot enough for hubby as the 4p sauce is very mild. Problem is I can't taste it later to check lol as I'm a ooh oooooh korma is hot kind of wimp.
Added a generous teaspoon of hot curry powder and a generous teaspoon of hot and spicy curry paste and a teaspoon of diced chillis at about 11am as hubby tasted and said it wasn't hot enough! Added a glug of cream about 15 minutes before serving. Hubby loved it, and got 3 portions in the freezer :jWeight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0 -

Here's the lemon curd recipe!
It makes enough for two 450g jars.
125g unsalted butter
400g caster sugar
grated rind and juice of 2 lemons
grated rind and juice of 1 orange
grated rind and juice of 1 lime
4 eggs beaten
(or use 3 lemons instead of the citrus mix to make lemon curd)....It tastes yummy by the way!
melt the butter and sugar in a saucepan, add the fruit rinds, then strain in the uice. Heat gently for 3 to 4 mins, stirring occasionally, until butter has melted and sugar dissolved. Put mixture in a basin that will fit into your slow cooker, leave for 10 mins, then add the eggs and mix well, cover with foil. por hot water to come up haf way up the bowl. cook for 3 to 4 hours on med, until mixture becomes thick.0 -

Have had a fab week at home making comfort food, ie cakes, soups, etc. Just had a real craving for them and wanted DH to come home to something nice and warm. It was also a great way to keep my kids occupied as the novelty of snow lasted only a day for them!
