Ok, so I am offically mad!!
I have just entered the Great South Run in October, its 10 miles:eek:.
I am 5 stone overweight and until this evening I have not ran in over 7 years:eek:.
I figure that as its 10 miles and there is 10 months I can at least build up to it by adding a mile a month, i have just joined the gym so will be on the treadmill until I pluck up the courage to go out on the roads.
Quick update on Mum, she is being moved to the nursing home on Monday, so looking forward to having her near by again.
Hugs to those that need them and high fives to those doing well, keep it up. xxxChiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

Hi all,
his missus - oops :rotfl:ah well, small steps and as long as you're making progress - which it sounds like you definately are, well done on the weight loss :j Where did you get your 'pear shape' jeans from? I always struggle to find jeans that are a decent fit.
Bitsy - hope you feel better soon, I've been a bit like that lately, it seems like rather hard workHope Luna's feeling ok after her op x
Maisie - doing greatI must get back on MFP.
minealmine - well done on the weight loss :j2.5lbs is a great amount for a week, don't put yourself down and I would definately ignore silly women in a cafe (though I wouldn't be convinced they were actually staring at you, a lot of people tend to be wrapped up in their own little world).
LL - might have a trip down to Aldi, have heard good things about their perfume and at that price you can't really go wrong. Keep looking at the Lidl one as well but they don't have testers and I don't really want to buy without a sniff firstSounds like the house organising is going well, glad you're starting to feel at home there x
ww - enjoy your day off tomorrow, hope you find something fun to do x
rummer - well done on the weight loss too :T (we're all going to be skinny minnies in no time at this rate!) I'm intrigued now on your plans
Anyway, had the day off work today - not been very restful though :rotfl:Had a bit of lie in and not a bad night's sleep last night so hopefully getting back to normal, feeling a lot better for it. Have been blitzing the house today - am determined it's going to become tidy and uncluttered!!So today have been sorting drawers and wardrobe in the bedroom - have 3 binbags of clothes have pulled out of them, in the spare room for now, am going to go through properly soon and decide what's charity shop/ebay and what I may hold onto in the hopes I'll fit inro it again :rotfl:Cleared all the surfaces and am working through my washing pile. Knackered now though so going to chill out and maybe have a wee drink

pod, my jeans are from Evans. They've recently started this "dressing by shape" thing. Thought it was just a marketing ploy but the jeans have a smaller waist and wider hips so I don't get the gape at the back like I usually do with jeans0

Looks like Aldi's perfume sales are going to do well.:rotfl:
Mine and Rummer - meant to say great news on the weight loss.
Hewie - what a goal. We'll all be rooting for you.
Been very productive this evening, sorted two boxes of paperwork.
Getting there.0 -
Evening everyone.
LL - you sound really positive about your new home. I hope you find exciting and stimulating things in your new neighbourhood.
Pod - I'm on a declutter mission at the moment too. Do you have a local Freecycle? Great for getting rid of useable stuff (and adding to your own clutter too if you're not careful!)
Hewie - you are so brave entering the run! I'll be very interested to hear about your progess.
Fed Up, Mine all Mine and Rummer - good going on the weightloss and healthy eating.
His Missus - it's great when you find a good pair of jeans isn't it? May I also recommend New Looks 'Shaper' jeans - bit stretchy and best of all a higher waist so no muffin top! My tiny size 12 friend loves them too so not just for us - er - curvier ladies.
I'm sorry I keep forgetting about the 'thanks' button at the bottom of all your posts - I read them all so must try and remember to thank as I read. Lots of great tips, news and just chat.
I am resisting the Aldi perfume as I have quite a bit at the moment and even at 2.99 I can't justify buying any more till what I have is used up. Favourite at the moment is Boss Orange (which I asked for for Christmas, didn't get so bought it for myself!) Some of M&S own perfume is also very similar to the more expensive stuff - I like Isis which is like Light Blue.
Couldn't really do Fab Friday as had to wear the sober suit for work today. Good news is I have trousers in two sizes and got into the smaller ones without feeling like they were cutting me in half! I'm really liking Myfitnesspal to monitor my food intake - I've never managed to calorie count before, but it's so easy and no forbidden foods or horrid meal replacement stuff. I think that was a tip from here (WW?) so thanks.
Anyway night all - off to my cosy bed with a favourite re read.0 -
Good morning everyone, I had a lie in this morning for a change after feeling like cold was descending upon me the last 2 days. Have been warding it off and feel kind of ok mostly but planning a quiet weekend and also need to crack on with some uni work this weekend too ready for the next meeting in a week's time
Fabness - hmmm - just the usual for me , a Fab Friday outfit, usual skincare routine. Diet went a bit out of the window yesterday due to me feeling not too great whilei n the supermarket and caved in to a pack of creme eggs on offer and 2 packs of biscuits which I promptly scoffed quite a few when I got back in. Oh well, I know today is another day and I'll just write yesterday off.
Used my giftcard to order some spring coloured jeggings in the sale and a springlike top and shirt to go with jeggings and trousers I already have. Will collect them tomorrow, try them on and then see and they can go straight back for a return if they're not absolutely perfect in every way! Also ordered a couple of tops for work which were £6 each and its the same for them.
All meaning I didn't manage to stick to my NSD for clothes for Jan unless I return them and don't buy anything else

Morning all!
Just weighed and have lost 1lb. Quite pleased with that after the week I've had - the week from hell at work and very little exercise.
So that's 4lbs down since 28th Dec - not too bad.:)
I'm now back to my lowest weight (teeny bit under actually).
I had a rubbish day yesterday too - school dinner, a big glass of wine in the evening with cheese and choc:eek: Back on the straight and narrow today. Haven't had time to update MFP since mid weeke either so will get back to that.
I'm another one that would recommend M&S perfumes - not too expensive and nice fragrances that last.
My plan for the day involves walking the dog, doing some exercise (probably a run, if we're going to get some snow I'd better get the trainers on quick!), cleaning the house and doing the food shop. That's the morning taken care of - this afternoon I think I might go to the cinema, I haven't been for months so it will be a bit of a change of scene.
Right, the woofer needs walking........0 -
indiepanda wrote: »Ok, I am joining in this time round, here are my goals:-
- To shed at least 1 stone in weight (I'm 3-4 stone overweight, a pound a week seems achievable)
- To get active - do more than just walk to and from the bus stop each day (I'm exercising twice a week at the moment but want to do more)
- To wear make up to work every day (I practically never wear make up to work, but I know I feel more confident when I do)
- To stretch on my foam roller at least 3 times a week (had an injury to my knee and physio says I need to stretch more)
- To do a manicure and pedicure once a week (my hands and feet are a bit of a disgrace)
- To turn off the computer by 9pm every evening and have at least two nights a week without using the computer at all (am sure I am messing up my sleep by using the computer too late)
- To continue to participate in the "no buying unnecessary toiletries" challenge (my stash is immense!)
- To complete night time beauty routine every day (I often wait till I am so tired to go to bed that I end up going to bed not cleansing / moisturising which is silly because night time is meant to be the best for skin repair)
Good luck to everyone else with their goals x
Oh dear, I got somewhat distracted by the Christmas break and completely forgot to monitor my performance on this. Back to work this week so starting to get into a routine.. how have I done?
- I have been taking healthy packed lunches to work this week and don't have any unhealthy food stashed about the house post Christmas, scales seem to be suggesting it's starting to work but early days.
-I have got back into my pre-Christmas twice a week exercise routine but not really extended yet. However, am off for a hike in Richmond park tomorrow and have lots of hiking trips planned for this year as incentive to get moving. Have also been through my (unused) collection of workout DVDs and found some I think will work well for my current level, will try one later today.
- I wore make up to work every day this week, perfume too, and I did feel better for it.
- I still haven't got on that foam roller..... must do today.
- turn off the computer earlier and have some computer free days - I've been doing much better on this and seem to be sleeping a bit better as result. Also ordered a new mattress as concluded I was getting some back pain as my current is getting a bit old, hopefully that will help more when it's delivered. Ordered some aromatherapy blends to help with sleep too - just arrived.
- I've been doing reasonable well at using up my stash and not buying new toiletries - didn't go anywhere near the sales and am definitely using up more than I am replacing.
- I have been going to bed a bit earlier and taking my make up off and applying face cream etc.
All in all I'm relatively happy with how things are going, room for improvement as ever, but definitely heading in the right direction.
Hope everyone else's challenges are going well x0 -
Good morning everyone
You're all sounding very positive and doing very well. A great start there Indie, some good habits being set up there.
Feeling a bit sniffy this morning hope I'm not going down with something.
My elbows are really sore, must have strained some muscles again with all the humphing boxes around. Going to have a bit of a break today. Will make sure I don't do any lifting for a day or two, just get the boys to do it. Why have a dog and bark yourself. :rotfl::rotfl:
Still no snow yet but it's very very cold.
Have a great weekend. X0 -
Dog walked (lovely to see him playing with other dogs at the park after his illness, back on form again now), run done and I'm staring at the hoover trying to find some motivation......:o0
