I'm another one who's keeping this 'fabbing' thing in mind and reading the thread for inspiration but not often posting. But since it's the start of a new week and I've started back to my physio exercise group, now seems like a good time for an update.

So weight wise, I think I'be turned the corner but the healthy eating needs to start now. My MS nurse says it's probably my medication that has made me gain so much - but I'm sure that the bingeing doesn't help!

I discovered on the web that my hsband's favoured shampoo is half price at Boots (Elvive large shampoo/ cond @ £1.99 if it's of interest to anyone) o I went to a retail park after physio to stock up on that and manly shower gels for my lads. Then I remembered the No.7 voucher I've got and that I'd lost my fave lippy, so I found a special one to use my discount against. And skincare - got some nice treats on the 3 for 2 with £5off! I felt quite relieved when I'd got the lot- only to be given another No.7 voucher!

Anyhow, I'm using exfoliator and cleanser more than I used to and have been moisturising my body. (It turns out that the body cream has sparkly bits in- how glam!). I really must get round to sorting my hair colour and get a proper job done on my eyebrows.

Time for one of my power naps before some 'fabbing' of the lounge and th school run.

Keep up all your efforts ladies. Good luck! :-)

    Hi all,

Bitsy - yes, it is the caffefine roller one. Agree it does feel nice and cool, and I get a bit of tingling afterwards so maybe it's doing some good? Or just wishful thinking, we'll see :rotfl:

Just a quick one today so won't comment individually but well done on weight losses, exercise and resisting biscuits (or at least not eating the whole tin, that's an accomplishment in my house!). Managed to get a bit of fabbing done last night - had a long shower and am trying to use up all the bits of bottles I have lying around the bathroom so used a moisturising shower gel haven't used for a while and body scrub. Plus have quite a few small bottles of brunette shampoo that I got in a set - love the conditioner as it brings out highlights in my hair but don't tend to use the shampoo as I need a dandruff one or I can get itchy scalp. Instead I tried using one right at the end after the conditioner as an extra bit - and my hair looks really nice, got a bit of highlight coming through and is nice and shiny. So that will be the plan until they run out :) Have a new top on today, is like a teal green tunic style is a nice soft jersey/wool style material so feels nice and cosy. Trying to look fairly presentable as going along to OH's choir tonight to introduce myself and get them used to being filmed a bit before the show.
Hope everyone is having a good day x

    Hello all!

Not slept well at all this weekend, 3 nights of disturbed sleep, when I managed to get to sleep. Looking a bit haggard today and a massive coughing session has now made me look worse.

2hr long sessions of badminton with Hubby over the weekend, I actually beat him for a change yesterday :) Also did some Wii Dance4 last night - apparently I don't have the moves like Jagger, hee hee!

Eaten quite healthily this weekend and only had a bottle of wine on Saturday (instead of our usual Fri/Sat/Sun nights)

Weigh in day for us is Wednesday. We use the Wii as our bathroom scales are temperamental - you can hop on, hop off then hop on again in a matter of seconds and lose/gain up to 5lbs!
  • I studied NLP (neuro linguistic programming) and it was a real eye opener. It's well worth thinking about this and trying to apply some of the concepts into our daily lives. It can make all the difference between positive and negative thinking.

The words we use can be really helpful in affirming positive thoughts and emotions. I think the word "loss" is a classic example, with very negative connotations . Reduction is much better.

Another little group worth thinking about are "should" and "ought" as in "I should do this" or "I ought to be doing that". If you substitute them with "could" and "might" then it becomes a matter of choice rather than an obligation.

It may sound a bit pedantic but it's just one of those little mind tricks than can make a huge difference.
    .

Totally agree, I've done a practioner course in NLP too, though I seem to find it rather easier to use in the way I talk to others than the way I talk to myself. Will dust off my text book and remind myself of some of the techniques and practice using more, I know it works.

Me too. I really can't stand mess and clutter, it makes me feel uncomfortable. I shall be glad when I've finished unpacking and it's all put away. Nearly there.:D

This afternoon I re-organised my bedroom cupboards and drawers, just one more box left to sort through. I still have quite a lot of toiletries and potions, so hopefully a nice couple of frugal months ahead.

I also made a start on re-arranging the kitchen the way I want it. Also made a start unpacking stationery etc and sorting out the ah-hem "study" (will be more of a storage room for a while yet).

I still need to do a fair amount of de-cluttering but am aiming to try and sell as much as I can. Ebay, car boots and maybe the auctions.
Going to wait until the Spring when hopefully the weather is better and people have a little more money to spend.

Tonight I have been going through the mountain of old paperwork. Have managed to reduce it and have a nice pile for burning. Again need to wait for a nice dry day and then I will take it to Dad's allotment - don't want to upset my new neighbours with the smoke. :rotfl:

Have started loading up the car with some bits for the charity shop and ready for a tip run one day this week.

My poor car is in serious need of fabbing too, so will treat it to a proper valeting when I've finished with the tip runs. No I'm afraid I don't clean the car myself - one of my least favourite jobs:o.

All this work is making my hands quite dry and sore, I think it must be all the paper and cardboard so just going to give myself a quick mini manicure, to try and repair the damage.

Time to switch off the computer.

    G'night all. x

indie - meant to say in my post yesterday and forgot that saying reduction rather than loss sounds like a good way to feel positive doing it. It makes sense to use positive words rather than negative.

I went to the gym last night and managed to run for 40 mins - for me that's an epic achievement as I hate running and usually do my cardio on the bike, elliptical trainer and the stairmaster. My PT told me to start running more, so I did what I was told for once :) I felt absolutely fantastic for doing it, and I've noticed after going to the gym I feel great so that definitely encourages me to keep going.

Hello! I'm off to change my sig from weight loss to something else!
Can any NLP experts tell me if its still not right :)

I will eat better today and take the dog out when the ice has melted. Might dig out a fitness DVD or wii thing.

    Good morning

    Still de-cluttering, it's a slog.

Noticed you are making great progress Mine. I'm afraid it's just too much for me to itemize and count. I shall just have to fling with gay abandon:D

TBH I just can't stand all this "stuff" any more. It can't be good Feng Shuey (however you spell the damn word).:rotfl:

I'm no longer even concerned about making money from it, if I have to give and chuck it away then so be it. I shall view it as putting something back, good "Karma".

I've decided to postpone the hair cut and the physio until I've finished. It will be a nice reward, may even throw in a facial too. I think I've earned it.

Right time for breakfast and then off to see OH. It will be nice to get away from the mess for a couple of hours, although the roads don't look too good.

    Have a great day. X

Don't put off the physio too long LL. You can't work through pain or too much of it.
And just fling with gay abandon! I only itemise so I push myself to do it. You will get your house straight, I remember the clutter free pics of your old house you showed us!

No dog walk for me, far too much ice/snow here. So instead house fabbed. Lots more clutter shifted. Can't believe how much I keep finding!

Bit of personal fabbing with creams. Must, must do my feet.

Ate better today. I think having a project like decluttering can help distract me from eating/snacking.
