Snap!
I find chocolate digestives help the report writing - 5 scoffed!!!
I have done a bit of exercise to counteract them a bit but I'm still over the cals for the day - oh well, not to worry, tomorrow is another day and the curry is ready in the fridge to stop the biscuit binging when I get home from work.
On the positive side, I have gone past the half way mark of the 100km January challenge - will do my best to add another 20km this week.0 -
Indie - a small dash of lime cordial improves vodka and soda no end!
I think I'm going to have to give that a try, one squeezed lime wedge isn't enough.
Had a good walk today, did over eight and half miles with my friend, and allowing for the walks to and from the bus stop I did on my own, I must have pushed it over the nine.
My knee (which I've been having a lot of physio on) didn't give me any pain while I was out which is a relief. I suspect I might be a bit stiff tomorrow but am going to have a bath later with some aromatherapy muscle ease to hopefully minimize the stiffness.0 -

5? Darling you're still in the little leagues compared to me:rotfl:
Shouldn't Sunday be day of rest? never again will I book swimming lessons on a Sunday at 2pm. It mucks up the whole day, especially if we go swimming in the morning, dash back to cook dinner before rushing off to swimming lessons, dashing back walking dog etc.
I could cook evening, in fact I used to, but I'd spend Sunday night juggling bathing kids, cleaning up kitchen, dodging round H as he prepares his stuff for work next day. This was afternoon/early eve is slightly more relaxed. But I digress.
DD is in bath as I type so I shall treat myself to a mudd mask
Hands need some TLC given cold weather so shall sleep with my gloves on and hand mask applied (soap and glory kit purchased half price :money:).
Other than that no major fabbing, no exercise other than long lead walks with Luna which I have to say is not hitting the spot for her. Life's just not fun when you can't leg it round a muddy field :rotfl:
LL don't be too hard on yourself, you've had a lot on your plate x you lost it once you can do it again.
WW well done on exceeding 100km :T and well done on being sent on outstanding teacher course :T
Pod was the caffeine roller one from Aldi? I've got it, feels very nice and chilling when applied as its a stainless steel ball. Not sure I can see a massive difference but hey ho

Another mixed week from me, I'm forcing myself not to beat myself up over not sticking to all of my goals.
I have set myself mini goals that are more doable and will lead to me hitting my big goals in the long run.
My aim is to change 1 habit at a time. I have used perfume daily for a long time so that is now ingrained in me. I also moisturise my face every morning. I am starting to use a lip moisturiser at the same time, my lips have been chapped and dry for so long. Next will be daily bb cream.
I've managed to stick to a nice long bath once a week, I've really enjoyed the me time and relaxing. I can't remember the last time I had that much time to myself. I've remembered to moisturise all over everyday except once so my skin feels amazing.
I haven't managed to fit in time for any proper exercise but I have been multi tasking more and working on toning up which I'm now starting to see the benefit of.
A really big one for me that gives me a huge confidence boost is going for driving lessons with OH, I've had some proper lessons and now just need lots of practice before I'm ready for my test. I'm doing better than I though I would and it will give me so much more independence if I stick with it.0 -
Hello
Personal fabbing is a bit hit and miss. Dug out another richer moisturiser from my stores(!).
Food fabbing has been a disaster. I haven't stopped eating. The only positive is that I've eaten lots of fruit hoping this will in some way help. Not sure what to blame but I think I'll weight myself tomorrow. That will wake me up a bit.
House fabbing has been going well. Lots of decluttering. Really working on making the bedroom a more relaxing space. Well done ladies on turning off your smart phones/tvs/laptopsI now find myself decluttering while doing other things. The coffee machine was doing its thing and I found and rinsed out about 5 things to recycle.
No walk today. Been in a bit of pain today. Will (snow/ice permitting) be back onto walking tomorrow.

It sounds as if everyone has been very busy!
I have lost another 1lband I am delighted as there were a couple of days when I hoovered biscuits so I thought I would gain. Since Friday I have been doing really well and have greatly increased my intake of fruit and veg. Also been trying to move more throughout the evening instead of staying on the couch
Not been fabbing but going to get back on track tonight. Just heading off to iron the clothes for the week, grab a shower and then off to bed.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
lessonlearned wrote: »Indie - noticed your comments about turning off the computer and how you are sleeping better. Skymist suggested this too. I tried it for the last couple of days. I've noticed a big difference too - I've slept a lot better since then., so I'm definitely going to stick to that one.
Yes, definitely helps. I was offline by about 8 yesterday and had a bath before bed and slept soundly for a good seven hours, and then only woke up for a matter of seconds before dozing back off again for another hour or so.
I've also moved my smartphone, which I use as an alarm, away from the bed so I can't see it during the night and that helps too.
Used my new aromastone (it's like an electric version of an oil burner so you can leave on safely all night) for the first time last night with some relaxing sleep blend I bought, not sure how much difference it made, but I woke up feeling refreshed a bit before the alarm which is the first time that's happened for some time.
Feeling very happy this morning, I started to make a big effort with my food last week, taking packed lunches and healthy snacks to work instead of going to pret etc and getting tempted by the brownies etc. Anyway I was 5lbs lighter this morning :j
I don't expect things to continue at that rate - usually get a big drop the first week of a healthy eating campaign. However, I figure it must mean the approach I've taken is sound, and given I didn't feel hungry or really deprived, that's good with me. Plus I did one extra long walk yesterday but otherwise haven't ramped up my exercise yet, plan to start on that this week.
Hopefully that means I should be able to get a 1-2 lbs reduction each week.
You might notice I am avoiding using the word "loss". I've been reading Marisa Peers "You can be thin" which is partly about using hypnosis to help with weight reduction, and she says the language you use with yourself makes a difference. Weight loss is the only positive use she could think of the word loss, all the others are negative, often very much so - and the subconscious mind is programmed to try to avoid loss. She recommends finding another way of expressing the reduction in your weight, so I am practicing that to see what difference that makes.
I re-read her book last week and am going to use the CD this week to keep my resolve on track.
If anyone is interested, it's this one:

Looks like there's a new version coming out soon:

but as they've copied over the reviews from the last one, I think it might just be a tweaked title and new cover.0 -
morning all.
I've hit a bit of a plateau in the fitness/weight loss department so when I had my weekly PT session yesterday I asked him to make me out a wee program I can do once a week so I end up doing one day cardio, one day with him and one day of pyrometrics circuits. Hoping this gives me a bit of a kick-start again.
Also put some effort in for Sunday lunch at the out-laws yesterday, wearing a knee length shift dress and nude fishnets...so far so good til their dog jumped up and ripped my tights, sob sob. Her claws needs badly cut which was the problem, poor thing I'm sure it bothers her. Apparently they're getting done on Tuesday when she's in getting the snip.carpe diem

Fantastic weight loss there.:j:j
I agree - language is a very powerful tool. As Shakespeare said "The pen is mightier than the sword".;)
I studied NLP (neuro linguistic programming) and it was a real eye opener. It's well worth thinking about this and trying to apply some of the concepts into our daily lives. It can make all the difference between positive and negative thinking.
The words we use can be really helpful in affirming positive thoughts and emotions. I think the word "loss" is a classic example, with very negative connotations . Reduction is much better.
Another little group worth thinking about are "should" and "ought" as in "I should do this" or "I ought to be doing that". If you substitute them with "could" and "might" then it becomes a matter of choice rather than an obligation.
It may sound a bit pedantic but it's just one of those little mind tricks than can make a huge difference.
Well the snow has hit. I nipped out before it got too bad. Won't manage to drive to see OH today so going to hunker down and do a few indoor jobs.
Going to re-organise my bedroom and then tackle a few more boxes in the dining room, nothing heavy so as not to aggravate my elbows.
I will cook a nice "winter warming" dinner and just enjoy pottering around - making sure I fit in 30 minutes of exercise of course.
Have a great day and if you do have to drive, stay safe.
