  • Not updated much recently, not many changes to report. I haven't spent any money on things that weren't budgeted for.

I got an e-mail today from ASDA and the price they quoted for my phone (£41.51) is hwat they have agreed to pay and it should be in my bank in the next couple of days. As soon as I receive the money I will pay it off my credit card.

Going to cook a batch of spag bol tonight, will probably be able to make 5 or 6 portions but not too sure if it will fit into the freezer.

This month is going so slow, I just cannot wait until payday so I can send some more money to the credit card. Although it is going slow everything it well within budget. :j
  • Got paid the money owed from ASDA yesterday for the Blackberry which I sent them. Was expecting £41.51 and a £3 voucher but they sent me the whole amount £43.51 - so I have sent it to the credit card.

Get paid in 6 days, I so can't wait. I still have £45 in the shopping budget andI I shouldn't need to buy anything so that can go to pay more off the credit card :T:T
  • Interest on my cc came out yesterday, no extra charges this month for late payments, that saved me about £20 in charges.

Feeling good this month :) I need to pay off another £20.29 this month and then the cc will be under £1300

  • What a horrible couple of days... my car decided to die, luckily it was athome and not somewhere really inconvenient. Therefore I had to get a taxi towork and back again, that cost me a total of £12, not much but just wasn’texpecting it.

Decided to brave the snow and the cold today and walk to work, took me about40 mins, and I walked back also so that saved me another £12. Thinking of maybewalking to work once a week, will keep me fit and save me some money also –depends on the weather though, am definitely not walking if it’s raining.

A friend offered to look at my car today for me, and found it needed a new battery;thankfully he is quite handy when it comes to cars. He brought the battery forme and fitted it, so it’s running a treat now. Was expecting it would be quitecostly but he said he brought the battery for £40 so I need to give him thatthe next time I see him and maybe £20 for fitting it for me.

This didn’t mess up my budgets too much as I already had345 left over fromthe food budget which wasn’t needed, was planning on putting it towards the cc,but gotta look on the bright side – debt is coming down nicely, have paid allof my minimum payments plus extra!!!

Still think I will be able to pay off £20.29 extra to the cc by payday, thiswill bring down the cc to £1300.

  • Managed to pay off some more to my cc yesterday, whichbrings the total to £1299.25. Walked to work today so saved money on petrol, downside is that it was raining on the way back. I’m hoping that I can manageto walk to work at least one day a week.

Got paid today and after last month, I think I will be ableto fly through this month and pay off more to the cc. My aim for this month isto get the cc under 1K.

Planning for another month of low spends, meal planning andsticking to my budgets!!!
  • Keep going, you are already forming good habits that will not only get you out of debt but keep you out.
  • Managed to sell a gold ring, from my past, sold it to Tesco Gold Exchange. It was only for £21.53 but that's £21.53 that I didn't have before. Would really recommend if you have any gold to sell, sell it through these guys, you send the gold special delivery but it's free of charge. I sent it on Thursday afternoon and the money was in my bank yesterday morning, was well impressed.
Sent this money to the CC.

I have set myself a target of getting the CC under £1000, 22nd Jan(next payday). Need to find an extra £77.72 + interest of £36.95, this shoulf be doable - not council tax to pay this month which is £68 towards my target and I am confident I will have some money left over from my grocery budget.

Found a mobile phone in a draw a couple of days ago, didn't even remember still having it. I won't get as much as I did for my Blackberry but it's a few more ££s to throw at the CC.

So my first month controlling my outgoings was very successful, I don't think I wasted any money unneccessarily, more improvememnts to be made but am very happy with myself! :j

Good for you... is the debt free day going to be earlier than 2015 then?

    I'm sure it is!

It sure is.... I'm just off to find out what it will be.
    EEEEKK!! Excited!
  • Debt free date is now Oct 2014. In just one month I have taken 4 months off my debt free date!!!

I am confident if I keep working on this, I will be debt free in no time.

I really just want to get rid of this CC debt now, the snowball calculator is showing I should be free of it by July 2013, but I am planning on getting rid of it by the end of May at the latest. I CAN DO THIS!
