  • Not much is happening but that has got to be a good thing, at least I'm not spending money...received a pre-paid envelope to send my blackberry off so I can get some money for that.

Finally back from the shops, that was no a fun experience, it was so so busy, but it was the only time I could go.

Spent £50, but about £20 of that was things that I will not need to buy every month, they were just one off costs, am confident that next time it will be alot cheaper as most items were out of stock.

Happy with what I brought but now just need the motivation to cook some meals today to last the week.

You may find shopping online cheaper. If nothing else it allows you to compare prices and take a list with you to the shop.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

Thanks, I think I will deffo compare the prices online first, hadn't thought about that...I don't do online shopping usually as I don't want to pay the delivery charges when I don't liv far from most supermarkets.
  • Sent my Blackberry off today to ASDA so hopefully they won't take too long to pay out.

Went to Lidl today, the first time I have ever been but as I recently discovered Aldi I thought I would try out Lidl also, it is a short drive from where I live and is quite a big store. I will not be going back, I started shopping but half way round I gave up and left the store. Most of the shelves were empty and I couldn't find anything I was looking for.

Went to Aldi instead, picked up loads of stuff for only £13, that will last me at least a week. Next week will have to shop at either ASDA or Tesco as I am working next weekend, grrrrr.

Although on the way home I saw an advert for staff wanted in a local pizza takeaway, am thinking of going there tomorrow to find out more. I am salaried at my current job therefore I cannot earn extra, so am thinking about getting a job for 1 or maybe 2 nights a week just for a bit of extra income and to pay off my debt quicker.
  • Another NSD today, have managed 6 so far this month!!!

It's going to be a slow month but I am happy that I am making progress and all targets are well in so far
  • Have been away from here for a couple of days, but that doesn't mean Iave fallen off the wagon or lost my way, not much has happened and I have been working so no time to spend money :D

Receieved a horrible letter from my bank a couple of days ago, it was an annual statement of charges for my big OD. I paid nearly £800 just in charges and interest last yeah  That was a big wake up call and has made me more determinded to pay off these debts.

Only thing I have brought is a car charger for my iPhone, was only £2.97 including delivery so that was my treat for this month.

800 ouch! I have no idea how much interest and charges I paid but it was probably in the thousands....horrible thought!
  • YAY - just 2 more weeks until pay day! More than half way through this month and everything is going great, looks like I will have cash left over to throw at the cc. 1st month is always the toughest and this one was a 5 week month also, so if I can survive this month, the others I should fly through :)
  • Went shopping today, spent a total of £32.54, so I have £46 left for food and toileteries until payday in 2 weeks. Looking at what I brought today I have enough food available for the next 14 days therefore I am hoping this extra money can go towards the CC.

I also have £45 left for petrol, hopefully I am only going to need another £20 before payday. :D

So the following meals I can make:
Chilli con carne - possibly make 3 or 4 portions
    Gammon egg and chips
Jacket potatoes - cheese and beans, cheese and onion, tuna and sweetcorn, chilli con carne
HM pizza - enough for 2 pizzas so 2 dinners there
Lasagne - 3 portions left in the freezer
    Pasta tuna and sweetcorn
    Tuna pasta bake
Sausage casserole - possible 3 or 4 portions
    Chicken Korma - 2 portions
    Chicken curry - 2 portions
    Toad in the hole
    Beans on toast
    Sausage chips and beans
    Spag bol - 2 portions

Plenty of meals for me to choose from. I have done well in the last couple of weeks in the fact that I have reduced a lot of wastage and I have ben cooking more, but I have been shopping every week, I am challenging myself not to buy anything else in the next 2 weeks.

I would love to be able to plan which meals I am having on which days but it just isn't practical for me, I change my mind too often and sometimes I end up staying on at work or I do a night shift, therefore I will not be eating at home. I am hoping by having a list of meals available I can just pick and choose what I want on the day.
  • Made a HM pizza today, I had it for a late lunch and dinner as it was huge! Also while I was making the pizza I decided to cook a sausage casserole, this made 4 portions so I have put it into the freezer for a lazy dinners later on in the week.

Might need to start eating some stuff in the freezer as I only have a small freezer and I need room to make more!

On the plus side, I haven't brought a takeaway for well over a month, usually this is my biggest downfall and will buy at least 5 or 6 a month. Cooking from home is so much cheaper and not a hard as I first thought it would be.

Over the weekend I plan to create a C.V and apply for some part time jobs, I am salaried at my current job therefore I do not get paid for over-time, I just want something for a few hours a week, so I can start to pay off this debt quicker.
