    Fantastic!

Anything is possible when you put effort into it :)

You're doing great, keep your foot on the pedal!
  • This month isn't going as good as it could be, I am frustrated with myself for wasting £45 unneccessarily.
I could a parking ticket at the end of last week, I couldn't find a space when I finished work and usually I will get up early the next morning and move my car but I slept through my alarm so that was £35 wasted.

And then my phone bill came through and it was £10 higher than it usually is! It's fristrating but at least I know I will just be paying the minumu until the contract ends now as I am not using that phone anymore.

Also feeling down as I have been spending money for work, about £60 this month, just trying to look on the brightside, by the time my expenses claim comes through it will be next month so I can look at this money that I will put towards the cc.
  • Haven't posted for a while so I thought I would update today.
This month hasn't been that great, I have spent some money which wasn't necessary. So angry with myself!
So I got a 2nd parking ticket this month...going to pay it today.

I am also going to put in a claim for expenses today, not too sure how much it will be just yet though.

Got £15.75 for an old phone, that came through yesterday so that will go towards the credit card, I guess every little helps.
  • Just read all of your diary, well done, you've made a big change.

This money saving malarkey isn't always straight forward your bound to have blips, the money you have spent for work will be reimbursed so don't think too negatively about that, and hopefully both parking tickets will put you off from doing it again :)
  • Hi Dreaming, thanks for your kind words. You're right about it not being straightforward, I am so used to spending money that I find it hard not treat myself every now and again, I just need to remember once this debt is cleared I will have £300+ a month spare, just gotta bear with it I guess.
  • Thats exactly how I feel at the moment, but we will feel much better knowing whatever we buy is paid by us and not credit .
  • I'm feeling alot better about my situation today, have been paid soa new month and a new challenge to look forward to.

Have given myself a target of 3 months to pay off the credit card, this is doable, just have to keep focused. There is £800 left to pay, but with interest I need to pay off nearly £300 a month. I have decided if I do this by the end of May, I am going to buy myself a new stereo for my car, mine has been broken since August and it's driving me crazy. My thinking is if I reward myself after milestones that will keep me motivated and focused, I know I could pay off the debt quicker if I didn't but I'm pretty sure I would just give up and be in a worse position then I am now.

A long month ahead but I have got £68 in expenses coming back to me sometime soon and another council tax free month so thats £136 altogether to throw at the credit card.

Going to try my best to limit my spending, there isn't anything that I can think of that I will need.
  • Done some tidying and sorting yesterday, discovered that I do not need to buy any more clothes for the foreseeable future. This is currently what I have in my wardrobe:

    29 pairs of shoes
    17 pairs formal trousers
    11 formal shirts
    18 pairs of jeans
    14 casual shirts
    35 t-shirts
    29 hoodies/ jumpers

Why someone would need this many clothes is beyond me bearing I. Mind that I work full time and an supplied with uniform. It turns out that it all fits me and is all in nearly new condition - I can see where a lot of my money has been disappearing too...
  • I'm the same with clothes, have started slowly decluttering by listing a few items on Ebay every couple of weeks! That also includes several pairs of ridiculous heeled shoes that I never wear as i have spinal damage!
It's surprising what you have when you actually look. The trick now is not to buy any more unless really needed.
  • Decided over the weekend that I need to keep myself focused so a challenge was in order.

I'm walking 100km, from London to Brighton in June! Check out my page http://www.justgiving.com/Abby-Potter

It's going to be a massive challenge but I know I can do it!

    Wish me luck
