Finally coming to my senses.....

Thanks for the support Sharon87!
I did think about selling my second phone but in the last couple of weeks the scroll button has stopped working, it's a blackberry so without this button the phone is pretty much useless, maybe I could sell it to mishmash mobile or somewhere like that, I won't get much for it but every little helps.
I enjoy updating my spreadsheet almost every day, it has a spending diary also so I can track my spending. I'm hoping that the novelty doesn't wear off like usual!!
Well I'm off to do a spot of shopping, wish me luck....0 -
Finally back from the shops, that was no a fun experience, it was so so busy, but it was the only time I could go.
Spent £50, but about £20 of that was things that I will not need to buy every month, they were just one off costs, am confident that next time it will be alot cheaper as most items were out of stock.
Happy with what I brought but now just need the motivation to cook some meals today to last the week.0 -
Well not too much to report...
My plan on Sunday was to cook loads of meals and freeze them, didn't quite get that far although I did cook spag bol from scratch, a major achievement for me and it tasted great!! I made up 3 portions so I froze the remaining two. This has really given me the confidence to try other recipes soon, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
A NSD today as I was working... but have got 3 days off this week so will have to try and keep myself entertained and not spend money.0 -
Well another NSD here... shouldn't need to spend any money until Friday when I will need petrol.
All is going good so far, but this month is going to be soooooo long, with it being a 5 week month for me
On a happier note my expenses for work have been approved and £380 is on it's way to me within the next week - this has been building up for the last 5 or 6 months, didn't even realise that it was this high....it's going straight onto the cc0 -
This week is going great for me some far, I haven't spent any money since Saturday!! Will need to get some petrol tomorrow but that's it until Saturday when I will need to go to Aldi.
Not made any extra payments towards debts but I'm guessing as long as I am not adding to the problem then that's good.0 -
Good news on the nsds and expenses.:j0

Hi, just thought I'd pick up on the mobile point as it doesn't look like you've moved this forward.
I think you'll be surprised about the amount you'll get for a blackberry. Use Martin's valuer which searches all the recycle sites for the best deal:
http://www.mobilevaluer.com/
And check terms on what they describe as broken, normally it's a case of if it turns on and no smashed screen it's working, even if some of the buttons aren't responsive.0 -
Hi,
It sounds like you're off to a great start!
I'm also trapped in a long-term phone contract but one thing I was able to do was cancel the insurance that came with it (and add my phone to my bank account's policy) which saved me £12.50 a month... Every little helps and my phone is still covered.0 -
Hi Frustrated.
Well done on your LBM and achievements so far, getting shot of that PDL will make a big difference.
Keep going with the NSDs and If you do go out anywhere take cash, leave the cards at home.
On the subject of your debts, don't want to scare you but banks can and often do recall overdrafts with very short notice! As all your debts have the same APR you might be better paying your work expenses off an overdraft rather than the card. Personally I would pay it off the small one as It will get shot of it quicker and give you a bit of a buzz!
Apart from the Blackberry do you have anything else to Ebay/sell?0 -
Hello Frustrated, :hello:frustrated12 wrote: »Water rates............................. 42.63
Water is £26 a month, it isn't on a meter, then I have added the sewage on the SOA as I save for this every month and then when the bill is issued I have enough money to pay it straight away.
Can you get a meter? Your water/sewerage charge is twice what I pay [metered] for a 3 bed house with two occupants.
Good Luck with your DFW journey!0
