Dithering_Dad wrote: »Could everyone check that I've got their genders correct on the Original Post - some of your MSE identities are a bit androgynous, so i had a bit of a guess!
Do people mind if we all start using avatars? (these are the pictures next to peoples messages) - it makes the thread look a bit more jolly and is good for quickly "identifying" people in a long message stream - as long as they keep the same avatar!
You got us right DD, we are a 'their' :rotfl:
Well I'm the one who usually writes on here and I'm the biker (and yep, I look just like my avatar!) and I'm the female of the couple. He opted for three wheels (blames it on his disability but I reckon he's just too chicken to go back to 2 wheels after his little suzuki deposited him on the tarmac)
Oh and the garden is now one big hole waiting on concrete blocks for the footings, if I had my way it'd be a swimming puddle!
Ah well, back to work I guess. Advice for anyone wanting to change their career, make sure its not an office job based in a porta cabin, oh my goodness its like a flippin sauna in here today :cool:Happy riding on two or three"We're not complete idiots, we do have some parts missing!" :doh:0 -
I have started the month with £15.62 from matched betting. Not much I know but it all goes off the total owing!
Hope everyone else has had a good start to the month.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Way to go hypno
that is a great start. I have not had the courage to try matched betting yet, need time without other distractions to read and digest it all.

Also minimoo and megamooCongratulations on letting your house and the payrise! I was wondering what your planned monthly spending of £1,400 includes? Does it include bills, food, leisure etc and also the basic mortgage payments? I thought it might be an idea for us all to have spending targets - may help keep us to similar to how they do on DFW.
[/B]!
Hello all!
Update will follow when I've added it all up - just a note to reply to the above:
The £1,400 includes all "regular" spending by which I mean I don't include unexpected extras such as car/house maintainance etc, mainly because I also don't include savings and pensions. We put £100 a month aside as "spendable savings" if there is such a thing so these tend to come out of that.
As such it's not a true SOA but here it is:
Mortgage Interest 270
Gas/Elec 50
Landline/Broadband 44 (Reducing to £36 next month as they estimated it too high!)
C Tax 92
Mobile 40 (2 handsets - will look at reducing but tied in for another 6 months - was £25 a month for 1st 6)
Water Rates 16
TV Licence 11
Petrol 175 (We get back about half of this as expenses)
Food, toiletries, cleaning stuff etc. 240 (Could be less but short on time to shop around and am trying to eat better food - esp. meat! Oh and includes alcohol so saves on going out!!)
Life Ins 13
Home Ins 33
Cat Ins/vet bills 10 (This is actually Marriage Ins as if I didn't have it and anything happened to our dinky cat I know we'd end up arguing about what to do - megamoos is far too practical sometimes as in "yes we could get another cat for £50 but I want that one that's going to cost us £1000 to fix and then might still die"!)
Car Ins 43 (This is far too much and will be changing next month )
Van Ins 30
Extras 235 Balancing figure - includes, clothes, treats, hair cuts, presents etc,
Gym Membership 90 Includes 2 gym memberships and fencing club - £5 each per weekly coaching session (again trying to be more healthy! - hopefully will have more success in the MFiT challenge!)
