Well due to ex being generally incompetent I wont be completing for another month, which means another month of having way too much cash sitting in my account and not knowing exactly what the final figures will be.
I feel very upset and very angry
I cant believe he didnt send the stuff by guarenteed next day post
Sorry guys I feel bad because I know I cant say yay I paid X pounds off my mortgage. That will have to wait for another month :embarasse
Oh well at least there is a will even if the way is a little delayed but I will get there eventually. I will save as much as possible this month and try and accumulate the cash to pay off next month when all the final bills have come out and the solicitor.
I am going to try and do all the things I planed to regardless and just hope that in 5 weeks time I can offically say i have been overpaying my mortgage.
Fingers crossed for me please!Debt Free - done

This thread moves so fast now that I'm afraid I've been a bit ignorant so I would like to ...
Welcome to the thread hypno, daleyd, save-a-lot, pfpf and CFC
Also minimoo and megamooCongratulations on letting your house and the payrise! I was wondering what your planned monthly spending of £1,400 includes? Does it include bills, food, leisure etc and also the basic mortgage payments? I thought it might be an idea for us all to have spending targets - may help keep us to similar to how they do on DFW.
The sums you did are interesting AnW's Mum! £812 a day - wow! I'm surprised that the link in your signature was removed since it was a link to a thread on this site

Go put on the kettle, and have a nice cup of tea, and while you're sipping it you can think about all the questees and supporters rooting for you. OK it's not happening NOW, but it will be all sorted soon.Mortgage Free in Three cheerleader0 -
Make it value tea and you'll have a few more pennies for the 31st! Yayyy! My invoice for March has finally been paid and I've phoned my business bank to transfer the money across. And not before time too, cos Mrs Dither was going on at me about "not getting her housekeeping on the first of the month"
I've transferred £11,800 from the company account, £1900 of which are company expenses, £1700 for our monthly bills/mortgage, £1200 for Mrs Dither's housekeeping black hole (some MSErs have questioned such a large amount for housekeeping, but Mrs Dither does have to pay the Butler and Ladies Maid's wages out of this money...) and £7000 for the offset.
I'm going to have to be ruthless with Mrs Dither this month and not bow to her demands of mink coats and ivory backscratchers. If I do this, then we should have £10,000 in the offset by the end of next week.

DD fancy swapping jobs??? my full time day job comes with the wonderful task of digging out the footings for our new garage in the evening... but its great fun and you'd love it... honest :rotfl:
Well the materials for the garage have eaten any extra funds we were going to put into the mortgage but we decided that we really need the cover for the bike n' trike so we are rolling up our sleeves and doing the base ourselves (not so easy as its a split level site but hey ho!)
Anyway good luck to everyone for the coming month :j

Can I be added? $28,000 in three years.Smaller than most, but we're not able/willing to work extra hours etc. to make more money, so have to find ways to save instead.
Originally we were hoping for a five and a half year ending for our mortgage, but the more opportunities I see to save money, the more can go into our new mortgage, that, thankfully we can overpay as much as we like on.
When we remortgaged we got rid of the redundancy insurance- saving $18 a month which got added straight onto the overpayment fund:D
This month I have phoned Virgin Media and got our TV/Broadband/Phone bill reduced by $15 a month on a lifetime contract so will phone our mortgage provider and up our overpayment by $15 before we get used to the extra money.
Have also started the switch over on fuel providers, should save in excess of $150 a year,so when this comes into force I will phone up and increase overpayment by another $12 a month:j
Present overpayment- $170 a monthMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
