Dithering_Dad wrote: »Hiya mate, yes Cater Allen, they have a big backlog cos everyone's moving from umbrella companies into Ltd companies (are you using SJD accountants?). They're a really good bank, but snowed under at the mo. I'm trying to set up a deposit account with them to hold my corporation tax at a higher rate and they're taking ages for the same reason. They shouldn't be much longer (or so they told me today).
ailuro2 - I've added you to the list. Welcome to the group! You have probably got your region set to USA, hence the dollaro's. Go to Control Panel and select "Regional & Language Options" and check that the region is English (United Kingdom).
Welcome also to financialbliss. I've added your details to the OP.
Yes, I was with an Umbrella company and finished with them at the end of the last tax year and have set up a limited co. again. I am using NIXON WILLIAMS as my accountants. They are pretty good and only charge £60/month and do everything for me, including setting up the Ltd Co., bank account application, VAT registration etc.0 -

Thanks for that, as I said I looked and looked but I couldnt see anything, but I thought it was best to check as I may have beening dozy and missed a glaringly obvious link!
I have a Lloyds account and their online banking facility is great so I really thought that they would have a mortgage online account too. Oh well thats banks for you :rolleyes:Debt Free - done

Good news! Our fixed rate stops in july and I was thinking we'd have to pay the variable rate until we get jobs cos no one else is going to look at us really. But our current provider doesn't seem to think it's a problem us getting a tracker which we can overpay as much as we want on. It's still quite a high rate but nowhere near as high as the variable and we can pay as much extra as we want which will save us thousands, and there's no problem with us only taking out about 40k. And there's no set up fee
I'm all excited now and the husband is away in america so I can't even tell him - good job I've got you all to tell or I'd possibly burst!0 -

It's probably a bitmap rather than a jpeg or a gif file. I had trouble with that until I realised. Why not do a google search for free avatars, and save one to your pc for upload into MSE?
