Have just snowballed and it says my unsecured debt free date is August 2015...32 long months away

It recommended repaying the catalogue first and then the overdraft which is what I was planning on doing anyway...least I know I'm on the right track!

Hi PM - hope you don't ind me joining in too?
I'm in a similar situation - single (happily divorced), live alone with a dog and have a steady teaching job. I lost just under 2 stone this year and have more or less maintained the current weight for the past month or two but I would like to be 7 lbs lighter and fitter. I was debt free (after working hard for it) but a divorce and a well needed holiday saw my CC creep up a bit again - all still manageable but would rather it not be there.

So I'll be watching your progress and chipping in from time to time if you don't mind?

    Good luck!

PS I'd get rid of the catologue bill first too and then close the account, gets rid of the temptation. xx

    Hi there

I need to lose weight too - impressed with your gym attendance.

You seem to have a very controlled SOA, however, do you actually have £309 'left'' each month?

    Why no travel costs?

Could you get your bank to give you an authorised overdraft (which you reduced each month), to avoid the high APR & costs?

Assuming you don't, it probably be good to keep a spending diary to write down every penny spent so you can reflect on where it goes.

Also you would be better off using the £75 which you overpay the mortgage to pay off the debts with high APR. It will get you to debt free quciker & you can then overpay your mortgage with the surplus you have each month.
  • Morning

I am thinking of weighing in on a Saturday. Anyone else know what their plans are?

    PM well done on gym

RE SOA I agreed with the others, no travel cost and paying debts before the overpayment on the travelcost.

I see you have an NRAM debt, could you be due a refund in the recent interest gaffe? Will keep my fingers crossed for you.
