    Hi everyone

As the title of my diary suggests, I'm a big girl and I have 2 plans for 2013, to lose 1lb's and £1's. I'm hoping writing a diary will help keep me on the road to success....

Ok, about me....I'm 38, a size 22 and 5 stone overweight. Believe it or not, I've been going to the gym 5 days a week for the last 15 weeks and I don't leave until I could enter a wet t-shirt competition and win :T but while the fat is moving around, the weight aint going down :(

I'm also just under £11k in debt. I have 5 unsecured loans, 1 credit card, 1 catalogue and an overdraft.

challenge number 1....to lose the extra weight and fit into a size 14 party dress by 11/12/13!

challenge number 2....to lose as many £1's off the debts by 11/12/13!

For anyone who's still reading this, I'll give you a bit of background to my story....

I live alone with 2 cats, they are brother and sister but you wouldn't think it...she's always on my bed asleep and you can only stroke her when she wants attention or else she will take your fingers off with one swipe of her paw  he on the other hand is a mischevious bugga and acts like a kitten for 90% of the day, he also won't sleep unless he's on the settee next to me.

I have an interest only mortgage which I currently overpay to make a small reduction to the capital balance. I intend to increase this overpayment yearly by whatever I can afford.

I have a steady job and low outgoings apart from the debts...the loans and cards were used to pay for home improvements as the place was falling down around me...the work was all finished 2 weeks ago and it's like living in a show room at the minute :rotfl::rotfl:

I haven't had a man in my life for a few years now as the last one nearly destroyed me and it's soooo much easier not having to make an effort...its a long story but ex is still in my life and has no intention of leaving me alone as 'i'm the only person who understands him and he needs me'...his words not mine

So how am I going to start working on my challenges?....by taking one day at a time and not getting stressed about life if it doesn't go to plan every day..:)

First thing to plan is my gym sessions this week. I use the gym near work which is 20 mile away. There's usually no excuse not to go as I have to go to work anyway...but this week I have 2 work nights out planned which means having to take 3 sets of clothes with me...ie wear gym stuff to get there, work gear to change into and then party gear...also only have one set of gym gear so would have to take that stuff with me on the night out :rotfl::rotfl:so have decided i'm going to miss gym on tuesday and friday..well it is xmas!

Other than that I also get paid this week and I did a little bit of overtime in November so hopefully I can pay £100 off one of the debts before xmas...need to see what I spend on my nights out first.

whoa this is a long first post....will leave it there for now and update in a few days xx

Are you happy for us all to jump on board or would you rather we started a thread?!

    Please do say!

    Hi ya everyone

Had to laugh when I started reading your comments...loving that you've named it the Thin & Rich group....why didn't I think of that name for the thread lol

Of course I dont mind you all jumping in, you can keep each other entertained when my posts get boring!

Well I had one of my party night's yesterday and I'm proud to announce I only spent £20! Somehow managed to get 2 bottles of lager, double southern comfort, glass of Rose, double Baileys and a half of lager all bought for me. If I can do this at my current size, I should be able to clear a bar of all alcohol when I'm in my size 14 party dress next year lol!!

Visited the gym this morning to make up for my no show yesterday and my slight over indulgence last night...hope no-one takes offence but can someone please explain why some women feel it is ok to stand and talk to their friends in the middle of the changing rooms whilst completely naked and all their bits wobble everywhere??? I mean come on it's too early in the morning (7am) for me to have to decide which cubicle to run and hide in till you finish the conversation!

I noticed Slimming world mentioned in a previous post, I tried them last year and I lost 1.5 stone on it. I stopped going as the class was rubbish but then all the weight plus a little bit extra went straight back on. I still have the books and I'm considering starting it again after xmas to see if it will work now that I'm doing the exercise aswell...

Nothing much to report on the debt busting at the minute..however I did put 40p in my savings pot when I got in this evening...every little helps or so they say
