LW Sorry to hear all that. Do you have portable heaters you can use for whichever room you're in? Or can you see if someone has some not being used on freecycle or something?
So I've had the whole afternoon to myself and what have I done?
Groomed the dogs
Walked the dogs
Have a snooze on the sofa with the dogs
Thought I was being really unproductive and lazy but written down it doesn't seem so bad.
Welshdreamer Hope you find your purse soon. I have nightmares about losing my purse.

Thanks, we're managing ok. It's not too desperately cold; the gas fire in the lounge is fine, and as I always leave the internal doors open anyway because I have trouble operating the door knobs, the warmth does permeate through a bit. Mr LW is hauling the portable fan heater out and putting it in the bathroom in the mornings so that we can bathe in reasonable comfort (ssshhhh - don't tell the elf'n'safety people). The biggest nuisance is havng to put the immersion heater on for bath water, and of course, I can't dry our towels - or the dogs' towels!!! - on the radiators.LW Sorry to hear all that. I will be so glad when Thursday is over; I absolutely dread having people in the house, and the anticipation is making me feel really ill.:(
Anyways - I must go and feed Dave; and I'd better get his postcard home done - he's being picked up in the morning, so I don't want to leave it til then to do. When he goes, Daisy will be arriving - she's a newcomer, so I hope she's easy to look after!:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I posted on here a few days ago as I was trying to get a gluey substance off my old desk and I managed to do it today with a brillo pad and some nail varnish remover.:T
I have also hoovered downstairs and tidied up a little bit today.
I did a load of washing yesterday but my hubbie came home with wet clothes last night as the weather has been so rainy. I'm not doing it today as I feel like I'm coming down with a cold and really can't be bothered.:rotfl:0 -
Welshdreamer, I cleared more stuff from the Snug and trotted up and down the stairs more times than my knees liked. I need someone to help me with the heavy stuff now but till then I shall start putting books back in the right place.
more tea first though - combination of sore throat and all this dust is not good.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Mrs Poohs What's 'backshift'? It's a term I've heard but I've never been able to find out what it actually means.
Totnes was fab, but much quieter than we expected. We got everything we wanted and both really enjoyed it. Tomorrow can now be spent just wrapping, pottering and enjoying the Sloe Gin I made three months ago.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.0 -
back shift normally means late shift doesn't it? Or I think it does here in Yorkshire (I'm not a native - but I have lived here for 24 of my 50 years...) something approx 2pm - 10pm?:jFlylady and proud of it:j0
