Washing up done, maybe my new years resolution should be to never leave the nights dishes to the next day.

We've just had a short power cut here. Hope it doesn't happen again, not when the fridge and freezers are full to bursting.

Right off for a nice relaxing soak.

Mrs Chaos - good to see you, and good luck with the minecraft, my boys are obsessed with it. It doesn't run on this laptop (the oldest in the house), something to do with Java?. It may be worth uninstalling and re-installing java to see if that helps.

Most of the bedrooms are done but there is still a huge amount to do. Today will be full of HHCs, and ten minute flops as I still have this stupid cold.

    Morning

I'm awake but have brought my cuppa back to bed after shopping on tne next vip slot at 6 am :p and just having a snuggle with doogie. Wehad musical b:peds here as DH didnt want to come up the second flight of stairs so got in DD's bed so DD had toget inthe spare. DH was really bad last night, his poor tummy has swollen up like a balloon and he is in so much pain (think its ibs type trouble although he has never been officially diagnosed). He is sleeping now and I told him last night I would call a doctor out if he was still like it in the morning. His response was oh and what are they gonna do - !!!!!! does he seriously expect me to watch him in agony. As a paramedic he obviously doesnt want to waste anyones time but he needs to look after himself, he is less than 3 weeks from retiring! Just waiting to hear him stir then will see how he is.

Anyway bossymoo your children sound adorable and I love to hear your stories about them.

Mumto 5 - so glad you had a better day yesterday and some happy news

Welcome misspoohs - I hope you hang around and get time to enjoy your flying, we're a friendly bunch here

Trulymadly - we love Jamie in this house and our food shopping consists of stupid phrases like well does jamie use it and jamie likes this, but Gordon we cannot watch. The way he talks to you via the cameras is so unnatural and false and he bounces around like tigger, weird. Jamie is just who he is and so down to earth love him.

Valli keep up the good work my dining room is the next challenge today, it becomes a sort of dumping ground as its directly between the hallway and kitchen so is always a bit of a drop off zone.

Just remembered I need to find the other santa sack one is missing so that needs to be done in daylight hours as its in the attic possibly.

Right DH is stirring or is it DD so I better go and get on.

Lots of talk of weddings this morning!

We are going to see the newly engaged couple. They live near a big Mr S so I can get a few last minute bits.

I have ironing to finish off and our bedroom is more than a little cluttered so that needs attention.

I have a couple of cakes to bake and a pavlova to assemble.

I'm pleased the 18th went well mrs Moneypenny .

Good day vibes for everyone x
  • loved Strictly last night but by the end DD1 couldn't keep her eyes open. Sadly they were wide open by 1am when she started being sick. She was sick on and off through the night.

Luckily DS stopped out and I texted DD2 who promised to come in quietly - she managed this - and she left a handbag in the kitchen - a signal to tell me she's home!

OH has gone to Morrisons for some last minute bits - I have to go to town for some stocking fillers. I have some last cards to deliver!

On the good side - there is a strange round ball in the sky - and no rain coming from it!
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j

    So today.......
I have breakfast dishes to do - done :)
Empty the TD and iron - reload the WM. done :)
Make packed lunch for DH - he's on back shift, he'll walk the dogs before work. Done :)
Go to M&S see if they have any individual Christmas puds left
    Vac the down stairs
    Wrap pressies
    Make dindins.

Is it a dyson? I rang them for a new fan belt last Sunday and it hasn't arrived yet. Useless idiots at dyson, I have flying to do!

Mumto5, this was entirely my fault. I managed to knock DS nursery picture off the wall and it hadn't registered (I was pushing through the pain barrier at the time) and then I pushed the hoover straight over the top and gobbled it up :eek::eek:

So I will get round to ordering more spares.

Haven't caught up on with Fred entirely yet, but thank you everyone for your positive thoughts and good wishes.......next door and the EX got to speak to the landowners aroundabout who have dug drainage ditches at the edges of their fields which all filter into a teeny weeny storm drain in an animal sanctuary that runs along the back of next door and my house.....the lady who "runs" it relies on volunteers and it seems no one has checked the storm drains for years

Next door and EX went and rodded out her storm drains as they were blocked with a number of tennis balls (not mine, they don't do hand eye co-ordination sports :rotfl:) and goodness knows how many years of silt, leaves, twigs and general gumpf

That meant the run off from all the fields stopped spilling through my fence and went down her storm drain. Unfortunately I couldn't do anything with what was in my garden already but without more water being poured onto it at an alarming rate it seems to have found its level as its lapping up at the edge of my patio now.

I was instructed by the EX not to rescue items from the cabin as although the water had covered the bottom lips of the door, no water had breached inside, which it would have done if I had tried to open the doors.

I have got to go put my wellies on in a bit as we have had more rain overnight and I need to make sure no water has come up through the floor or breached the door seal.....so fingers crossed.

On the plus side, I now have a flushing downstairs loo :j:j:j:j. It is just the tidying of sawdust, polishing tiles etc to do

Every cloud has a silver lining and all that.....I will keep looking at my loo and smiling:D:D:D

will lurk on Fred with tea later....hugs, sticks and spoons xxx
The cold never bothered me anyway
