It must be the sicky season  DD woke me at 5 (after I'd escaped to the spare bed) she was just radiating heat. Stripped her off and dosed her up, and she went back to sleep till nearly 9. I've dosed her again, and she's quite perky, but I know she's not right.

Well I dared to take the glass out of the DR table myself, so it's all clean underneath. I've extended it out and set the party stuff up (mumto5 I think you asked, it's my MILs birthday today and she didn't want a present just a tea party).

I've mopped the dr floor, so we are all good to go in there, will just need to bring extra chairs in tomorrow night. And I've vacced round everywhere downstairs, and mopped in the loo. Well, not actually in the loo, you know ;)

Going to let the kiddies decorate the top of the cake, then I'll sandwich it together. Later I need to:
Clean up after party, set DW going.
    Strip and remake my bed.
    Wash bedding.
Collect and put away dry stuff.
Visit gran, take her mini Xmas tree and pressie.

I think my mum is coming over too, to bring a spare chair, the air bed and some of the Xmas dinner stuff.

    Right, cake!

We've made birthday cards, got the gammon out to defrost

Mrs Chaos - good to see you, and good luck with the minecraft, my boys are obsessed with it. It doesn't run on this laptop (the oldest in the house), something to do with Java?. It may be worth uninstalling and re-installing java to see if that helps.

Thanks, hex. Apparently it's something to do with the video card in the laptop... Setting up the desktop will be the first attempt to solve it. Hoping to join you in the HHCs, although mine may need to be QHC. ;)Definitely QHC - this cold/flu thing is really getting me down. Going to finish my coffee and look for some meds.

Had a much needed lie-in and an unproductive morning so far (drank two mugs of tea, watched TV with DS2 and coughed).

    Plan for the day:
[STRIKE]Eat something[/STRIKE] French toast and bananas for me and DS2 :D
    Tidy/clean front room
Take DS1 to work for 3pm
Collect dinner ingredients from farm shop and maybe call at Jack Fulton's
    Put tree and cards up
Wrap (as I didn't do any last night)
    Phone MIL
Find some Christmas spirit from somewhere!
ETA Must not forget about laundry started, dishes DW emptied and re-loaded and food.

Have a great day, everyone. No rain here, either, and the sun is out. :D

Cracking on here, things are looking much better. At that stage of chaos where you think you will never finish but another half an hour will see things transform.

I've been to see my Grandma and visited Mr S but I still need to get some more stuff. I'm going to load the WM and then do a HHC in the kitchen if anyone would like to join me.

  • Woohoo, just check my turkey and all the legs are moving freely - no need for naked turkey bathing in the utility sink:j:j:j

All systems go to slam it in the oven overnight tomorrow night - and a day of peeling vegetables tomorrow at the table or on the sofa if I am feeling particularly sloth-like;)

Lets hope the list tomorrow is gentle
The cold never bothered me anyway

LW - you're quiet, are you ok after your celebrations
*groan* Celebrations didn't exactly go to plan; our CH boiler died the night before;:( Mr LW managed to get a plumber bloke out (after ringing about half a dozen places that claimed to do 24 hour call-out); he was back Friday and here an age, ascertaining that it's completely deceased;:( so I spent a good deal of Friday holed up in the lounge with Dave while Mr LW dealt with the plumber bloke. We now have to finance a new boiler (I've done some piggery-jokery with our finances to cope with this) and I have the prospect of two plumber blokes here all day on Thursday:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: (we're without any heat til then) to fit it. Mr LW assures me he will, by hook or by crook, be here - he's going to talk to his boss tomorrow and suggest he wfh Thursday, if the boss doesn't want him to do that, he's going to say that he'll either take a day unpaid, or a day's leave from 2013's allowance, but he has to be here because no way can I cope with having strangers in my house, and male strangers to boot, without him here. I'm really, really panicking, though.:(

Hee hee, wish you hadn't asked now??:D

They have been together for 11 years since they were 15 and he is so lucky to have such a lovely girl.
Oh, that's wonderful news - after all the trials and tribulations you've had of late, something good happening with your family is really grand.:T:T:T My congratulations to them both.

I joined you Juliejim, cleaned the back hall and made a start on the Snug. Just stopped for a cup of tea now before I go again at 4pm.
