Reporting back from duty! Don't know how long we've been gone, but I have:

Moved all my hair and makeup bits from spare room
Dusted all guest bedroom and decluttered for space
Hoovered all upstairs including behind guest bed
Made guest bed up into double and replaced lamp etc
Cleaned 2x sink and 2x loo, wiped bath and shower
    Quick toy tidy
    Put ironing away
Had a blub, which then set the kids off but we're all right now

So, we are downstairs again. Cakes have cooled but I think I'll wrap them in foil and decorate tomorrow. Need to make up some jelly and decide what else we are having. Need to get the LR throws in the wash, they are grubby. MIT go browse the freezer and see what's for tea, we seem to be living on sandwiches (although they had toasted ones earlier, so at least something hot ;))

    Off I go!

The plan had been to marzipan Thursday then ice today - given that I only managed to marzipan yesterday (as I got a day's supply) I will leave it a bit longer BUT I'm out Christmas Eve - my friend has a spare ticket as she's had a knockback fotr a matinee performance of My Fair Lady. I will TRY to do it tomorrow.

Anyway I am joining Truly for the 3:15 mad scramble. I can see carpet in the DR...WOOT! woohoo1.gifAnd my inbox is emptied now, too. Pending box (ie key paperwork to deal with/file) is brimming but at least I have got all the paperwork IN there to sort later.bow.gifI can, at least, dust and vacuum now!HS3vacuumsm.gif

For Bossy - because I don't have to deal with what you have to deal with - and you do it so wellHScyboie_glitters.gif

  • TMD, I will join you by circumstance, rather than by choice for a mad HH - disaster recovery session

Next door have knocked to tell me the field at the back is flooding their outbuilding and did I know about the lake currently surrounding my wood cabin at the bottom of the garden

Water is spilling in like a tap - the EX has been summoned to deal with the other landowners, as I can't be dealing with that and it's not my house.

On the upside, the tiler has done a sterling job and has just left.

Trying to enforce a nap on DS cuddled up with DD3, so DD1 & 2 & I can start a chain gang out to the cabin to bring in what we can salvage to dry out....good job I had a lurk and a cuppa earlier - bah humbug Merry Christmas everyone!
The cold never bothered me anyway

No telly watching as it actually stopped raining, so I've had some fresh air with the dogs instead. Must be time for another cuppa.

Just having a break from wrapping, another HH will see all but the stocking bits done.

DH has hoovered and cleaned all downstairs windows.

All going too smoothly for my liking.

    Hi peeps.

Hope all ok and that all colds and man flus, sicknesses etc are improving. We have had rain all day but not enough to cause any flooding (well in the mile between here and town) so big hugs to those struggling.

Was in town and did food shop and back home by 915 so only a couple of bits I might need to top up on. Fridge sorted and all odd bits used in a ratatouille type thing rather than being chucked. Little bro played a surprise visit and spoke to big bro on the phone. DH has taken a funny turn and gone to bed with bad stomach pains and bloating. Not sure if its the antibiotics he started taking yesterday for a dental abcess or he's stressing about something again. I have finished off all the wrapping, first time I have EVER finished before xmas eve. Oh and I checked and tidied our understairs cupboard and as we still have 100 bottles left in our collection I might put a nice Chardonnay or Sauvignon blanc in the fridge for later which will go nicely with the reduced Lobster DH and I got in Mr M this morning.

Think I might go and do something otherwise I will be watching back to back Big bang theory. In fact I could go and fold clothes with the Sheldon Cooper flip flap flop thing that I just bought 2 of for DS and DH to do laundry with.

    Afternoon all.

I'm hoping to be back, at least for the duration of the holidays. Have missed you all very much (and so has the house). I've struggled with some cold thing for the last fortnight or so now and only finished shopping at lunchtime today. Since then I've slept, cuddled with DS2, had some soup and mooched around online.

I'll have to get on with stuff in 15 minute bursts. No point looking at lists, but anything I do will be an improvement. Tomorrow I'll pick up the dinner ingredients at the farm shop and Monday I'll go to the local shops for bread and milk. The rest of the time is for Christmas related stuff and fluttering.

On the subject of wrapping, I hope to have it done by the end of tomorrow. Now that would be a first.

Hope everyone is well (or recovering) - I only caught up with the last page.

    Hello all

Get well hugs to all who need them

Skint - hope you are ok and not overdoing it with the water rescue
LW - you're quiet, are you ok after your celebrations

Sorry but I'm all wrapped - 1st time ever that I've done it all before late on Xmas Eve, normally wrapping till well into the night.

I'm so far ahead of myself I keep thinking I've not done something, i'm worrying over nothing I'm sure. I've some last minute food shopping to do on Monday but thats it.

Its rained here nearly all day - couple of hours with no rain earlier

My list of to do things for today has almost been done which means that tomorrow when the kiddies are at their Dads I can have a restful day
