This month's Reward is based on the £1K deposit made in April.

June's Reward payment will be made if you deposit £750 this month, and have paid 2 x DDs.

Are you saying you won't have paid any DDs this month? How do you know?...today is only the 2nd, so there's plenty of time.

Nope 2 Direct Debit's were are set up, 1 was collected in April and 1 collected yesterday.

I think I may have missed the 24 April deadline which Halifax set.

That's a new one on me. Unless certain customers have got unique t's & c's, then I think you're perhaps labouring under a misunderstanding?

The only reference to 14th April was in the letter they sent (which some people didn't even get!).

There's no reference to 14th April in the Notice of Variation to the T&Cs referenced on their website.

Total red herring in my opinion.

Got my final £5 today. Not really worth claiming the £1.25 tax back since it'll cost that much in stamps. :D

Not sure when I'll next go to town but when I do I'll be closing my two now-dormant Halifax accounts, and I'll finally only have active accounts with two banks!

I had two reward accounts for which I set up the two DD's as required. For some reason one of my reward accounts has been downgraded. When I called up I was told it was due to the cut off date which but didnt know the cut off date. He referred me to get it upgraded again. Spoke to the upgrading team who said I can only have one. Once I asked why it was downgraded he said it is due to the changing T&Cs and everyone else with two or more would now only have one reward account on their sole name.

Is this correct? Seems like he is talking a load of nonsense.

    Seems to me, too.

There is nothing in the T&Cs, and there was nothing in the Notice Of Variation, stating that people with two Reward accounts will have one of them downgraded. Therefore they have no grounds on which they can do so.

If they insist on this sort of nonsense, it will cost them a lot more than £60 this year because people will complain in droves.

I presume you have already filed your complaint?

(my 2 Reward accounts are presently still showing as such)

I have rang again and have found out that apparently one of my dd was present on the 17th which was why it was downgraded however they did give me an option to upgrade but the upgrade team said no only one per sole account holder. The team states the same as what I wrote above with regards to anyone with 2 or more reward account holders will now have 1 reward account per sole holder. Although I did mention the dd was set prior to the 14th and was not my fault for the dd not appearing in a timely fashion but nothing can be done. A formal letter may help now.

May I ask who first raised the issue of the "cut-off" date (of the 14th)...you or the advisor?

I have two accounts, my mum has three, and my friend has three. All of our accounts are still showing as "Reward" accounts and all have paid the £5 for each account this month.

But, a while back I sent forms to HBOS on my mums behalf to request that no tax be deducted form her accounts as she is a non taxpayer. Therefore I expected to see her monthly Rewards amounts credited at £6.25 but it hasn't happened!
