Therefore I expected to see her monthly Rewards amounts credited at £6.25 but it hasn't happened!
* And in the account T&Cs (condition 7.5)0 -
The adviser mentioned the cut off date. I was just asked whether I received a letter to which I said yes. The problem is that in the letter with regards to the changes stated if you did not have the two dd set up then not to worry as its easy to change or upgrade back to the account. This was not clarified properly as per there new T&Cs of the reward accounts.0

I'd just ring again. Different advisors have been known to provide different information - it's just the luck of the draw if you get one who knows their stuff (not just a Halifax problem).
Don't engage in discussing any letter - it is the Notice Of Variation that counts.

As well as, obviously, the T&Cs that are now in force.
Ask them to put in writing precisely which of the terms of either the NOV or the T&Cs you have breached and how. You would want to be able to refer to their written statement when you file your formal complaint, prior to escalating the matter to the FOS if Halifax insist on running your account in contravention of the published T&Cs. Get them to confirm a date by which you should have received that letter. Take the name of the advisor, and note the time of your call. You might have to ask for a Manager if the advisor is over-challenged by your request.
If they decline your request for the letter, proceed with filing a written complaint.
Stay calm at all times since you won't get anywhere if you lose it.
EDIT: see this post for link to the T&Cs

Well spotted. I hadn't seen that in the terms and conditions!0 -
ok all done and dusted!
2 direct debits set on my halifax reward current account, one DD for a 1£ to go on my tesco savings account, monthly (2nd of may, already gone) and another one just been arranged, on 24 of may, 1£ to my post office online saver.
that is a fiver a month garanteed for a forseeable future, isnt it?0 -
My two DD's are both to Tesco and I still got the £5 reward on 1st May. It would seem you don't need two different organisations, just two separate DD mandates.
P.S. Amazingly, last month I won £100 in their monthly prize draw, I was quite chuffed as I've never won anything else before.0 -

The new T+Cs came into force on 1st May.
Two DDs are required to ensure you get your reward from then onwards. The first reward that depends on their existence will be paid at the start of June.
So it remains to be seen if you get the £5 reward with 2DDs from the same organisation.0 -

My understanding (from the T&Cs change) is that the June 1st Reward payment will be the first to depend on two DDs being paid in May (and £750 credited plus the other T&Cs being met).0 -
I see. Best to be safe than sorry I think I will add another DD from somewhere else.0

Just to confirm...
It appears using a bank account, which DD's two separate amounts from the same Reward Account will gain you the £5 reward if the other requirement is met.
Just checked for this month and all is well.0
