If you used Tesco for the TSB offer, you can use the same for the Halifax - you can setup multiple DDs.0

Yeah I have Tesco and Post Office DDs on Lloyds already. I have set up Tesco on Halifax but I need one more. The PO account only allows one nominated account (old issue), so I'm not sure if I can switch that to Halifax and still maintain 4% rate on Lloyds
i.e. did Lloyds say that you have to set up 2 DDs and keep them there, would you lose the 4% if you switched from Lloyds after 31 Oct or whenever it was?
I can set up Paypal on Lloyds to maintain 2 DDs there, I would use that for Halifax but it's not guaranteed to pay every month.0 -
I have 7 reward accounts in total:j.
Two in my name, one jointly with my wife, wife has two and both my married (so surnames are different to mine) daughters have one each.
I control all the accounts, passwords etc; they are quite happy this. I just transfer the £1000 round every month and collect the fivers:beer:.
I have arranged for direct debits to my Tesco savings account from my own and the joint account and will transfer existing DDs to these 3 accounts so that I will have two in each in each of them.
My problem is with the accounts that are not in my name and the setting up of direct debits:mad:.
Can I set up direct debits to my Tesco account from the other accounts even though they are not in my name?
Are there any other solutions to satisfy the new terms and conditions?0 -
A number of charities will accept donations by DD, although I'm not sure if there's a minimum donation.
I'm planning on stopping my existing standing order donations, and setting up DD's that equal the same amount on mine and my wifes accounts.
Doesn't help if you don't want to make a donation - but you could give a pound to charity and still claim £4!0 -
I have 3 reward accounts (2 are mine, 1 joint). My joint account will be fine as we meet all the criteria since all household bills go out from there, but my other 2 do not have DDs on them.
I have opened a Tescos saving account and a Nationwide MySave (Need £1000 to open MySave but only £1 to operate so will draw my £999 out in a day or so time) both of which allow monthly payments by DD.

I have setup a DD for Tesco and a DD for Nationwide in both of my reward accounts for £2.50 each (£5 total reward) this should satisfy the 2 separate active DD rule. All that is left for me to do is pay to minimum amount in each month on payday.
Granted the £5 wont be absorbed into my monthly spending anymore, but now its setup I can forget about it and in a years time I will have a nice little lump sum of £60 in each account - so in many ways that will be better!0 -
I have got 2 accounts with halifax and jusy re circulate £1k every month to get the fivers.
I have been meaning to change DDs over to Halifax and rang them today but the guy on the phone didnt know anything about 2 DDs.
I checked with moneysupermarket and it says that you just need to put £1k a month in to get £5, no mention of DDs, is it definite and where did it get advertised? Does anyone know?Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
Save £12k in 2013 no.34 £11,800/£12,000
'How much can you save' thread = £7,050
Total=£29,100
Mfi3 no. 88: Balance Jan '06 = £63,000.
Balance 23.11.09 = £nil.0 -

The thread was helpfully started by a Halifax employee. The information is prominently displayed on their current account page, with a link to a detailed Notice Of Variations document.0

Don't forget you will need to set two up monthly instructions - £2 to charity to net a £3 gain.
