lets not count our chickens before they've hatched eh!!

Totally agree.. I'm not expecting anything at all tbh. I can't really see it going our way even though it would be a huge help in my case.

Had it not been taxpayers money at stake here I might have been a little more optimistic

I just worked out a rough estimate and I think I've paid nearly £20k in interest on the unsecured element (including a threefold hike in APR when I sold the property) over the last 7 odd years and my original amount has hardly been touched... So heartbreaking to think how hard I've worked to see so little paid off.
Thanks to all who post here:beer:

If this doesn't work in our favour, I have no idea what'll I'll do?

I ended up in more debt (after I had got rid of it all before this reared its ugly head) due to 3 yes 3 solicitors completely messing up! The last one said I could sue the others, but I can't even do that as they are no long practicing and I can only send letters to SRA who will forward them on… the solicitors don't HAVE to respond!

This really is my last hope. If this doesn't happen, I'm completely screwed.

I know I'm not the only one who is hoping for the right outcome for us, so I hope we all get something good out of this!

I wonder if the verdict is being held back until after today's Budget?

Maybe this is nothing we don't already know but it's a view point from a finance solicitor

I really wish Martin would get involved. He's championed so many things, and brought our attention to so many wrong doings that we otherwise wouldn't have been aware of. This is the problem, as consumers we trust these companies have got it right, after all, they're the ones with the big lawyers doing all the paperwork and making sure it's all in check. But then look at this huge loophole, Northern Rock have made a massive boo boo and we've all had to pay dearly for it. For many of us they've brought us to our knees. We've ended up with extra debt, court judgements, bad credit ratings, losing our homes, the list goes on! All because we trusted what we were signing was right
Why should they be allowed to get away with it? And it's alright saying any refund will come from the taxpayers purse, but hang on, I'm a tax payer...my husband is a tax payer...and I dare say the majority of us are, so we would only be having our own money returned, money they wrongfully charged us.
come on Martin, where are you when we need you?

I totally agree Carly with everything you say. I remember Mr. Forsdick messaged him on Twitter (which would be the best way of contact) about getting involved and Martins reply was that he has done all he can or can't do anymore ?!?! Even some encouragement from him or others at MSE would help !

My understanding is he is the original complainer or one of them.He has been fundamental in the case going to court. He set up the action group and has been speaking with the media and anyone else relevant on the issue. I think he was mentioned in the transcripts. He has gone very quiet and has not been active on here, Twitter or F.B. since the transcripts were released strangely.

    Hi,
I am looking for a loan only about 10,000 to pay off all my cards and other loans especially with the Halifax, very high charges and never seems to be coming down, I am currently paying approx £200.00 pcm for my credit cards and loans, is there a loan I can get with a low amount of pay back and should I wish to add an extra payment I wont be penalised
Any help and advice would be gratefully appreciated

    Kind regards
    Mark
