  • I would of thought that legally they would have to provide an exact copy of the original documents?

I have checked my paperwork and there isn't a CCA stamp but where we have signed it states that the contract is covered by the CCA?

I presume this means we are covered. we took out 30K back in 2007.
  • My partner has had his together mortgage since 2005 and it would be a big weight off our shoulders to have some redress but what I wondered is how would this affect future payments if this is paid as the redress wouldn't clear the loan

Surely if the redress doesnt cover the full balance (not that it should) you should carry on paying it off? I was under the impression the figure is calculated when they discovered the !!!! up and the reimbursement is for the interest during that period.

Rumours have it, is that interest (varies from case to case) is on average 5 to 6 grand...

I could be totally wrong though
  • Hi all. I am new to this thread. I took out a together mortgage for a flat around 2004 with the £30,000 loan attached. I sold the flat in 2006 paying off the mortgage but continued to have the loan. I continued to pay £350 a month on the loan for a further 7 years without the debt reducing. With the passing of my nan in 2013 she left me some inheritance, I phone N ram and negotiated an early settlement for my loan for the sum of £10,000 proving that I no longer had the finance to make the monthly payment amount I was paying. . Does this action affect any payment I might receive from the above mentioned case. Thanks Rob

Pompey, obviously no one here knows exactly what the outcome is likely to be but from my understanding you should be entitled to some redress if u fit the criteria. Sorry to sound vague but it is a very grey area for us all !
  • Well, I have to say I originally thought that the end of July was an arbitrary date to stop us from pestering. Looks like it's going to the wire!
