groatiequeen yes we are surrounded by distilleries here, the cooperage has a visitor centre which is busy in the summer and the whisky festival next month is the biggest yet, lots going on
ccstar i think healthy eating and exercise is the way to go, but its not easy
oldmcdonald we are lucky here, we get a pin number and we can request and update our books online, handy in the winter as our library is two miles away

    Happy Birthday stefe :j

Hi all and a very Happy St George's Day!

STEFIJIB - Happy Birthday to you! It won't let me go into 'more' smilies and I wanted to give you a couple of birthday cakes - it'll have to be beer instead!

CCSTAR - It's NOT OK to have bad service in a tea room or anywhere else but, sadly, it happens all too often and it drives me mad!  Hope things are better for you now re: row with OH last night.

AMIE - Congrats on losing 4lbs - you must be feeling very proud - pat on the back!:T :T

LYNZ - Sorry you didn't get Glastonbury but Africa sounds REALLY exciting!:D :D

CATOWEN - You must really try for an easy day today - enjoy!:A :A

PEN PENGUIN - Glad you had a good time in good ole London town!:j :j

GROATIE - going to make that cake today:j :j

AUSSIE LASS -thanks for pm last night; pm'd you back but will pm again in a mo because I got rushed off the computer by DH last night!:A :A

Well, what is it with the sleepless nights and weird dreams? I slept fitfully on and off all night which meant that, once I'd finally got off to sleep, I ended up waking up too late for me - and 'too late' is now about 5.30 to 6.00 a.m.! Every time I almost dozed off last night I kept having pictures in my mind of still murky water which gave me the creeps. Each time, I was too scared to look into the water. I had to force myself to go through my 'to do' list instead! No doubt there's some deep psychological meaning to all this!:confused:

Well, today I had a lot of paperwork planned as well as the ironing. The paperwork is going to have to wait because DH wants me to advertise his car in two of the local papers and I bet that means being on the phone for hours and then emailing them the photos! And I have to do it today because today's the cut off point for the papers for this week!

The ironing I will definitely have to do but I'll end up putting it all ready and dipping into it throughout the day!

It's actually trying to rain here and we've been weeks without it so I know the gardens need it but I shall miss hanging the washing out! Miss the sun, too - hopefully it will poke it's head out at some point during the day!

Dinner tonight is simple because I've so much to do. New Forest sausages with onions, left-over new potatoes, fried and a tin of beans, followed by stewed rhubarb with yoghurt.

I wasn't intending doing any proper shopping today - just wanted to walk up to the local shop and get the paper - but I've still got this toga to make for DS2 for Friday - I've sorted out the bit to throw over the shoulder and had a lightbulb moment over breakfast :j :j and thought I'd look for a big old-fashioned lady's nightie in the charity shops that I could alter, with minimum effort I hope, for the long 'dress' bit that goes underneath rather than cut up (and have to sew) an old sheet! As he's 6'4" (they are all 6'4" - DH and both DSs and I'm only 5'3" - they block all the light out of the windows when they're all in the kitchen at the same time!) so that's a lot of sewing if I have to make it all from scratch! I shall also look in our equivalent of the pound shop for some plastic ivy to wind round his head!

Anyway, must go - I still have to dry my hair and put some make-up on, run the hoover round, do some ironing, cut up the rhubarb............................OMG I'm tired already just thinking about it!

Have a good morning and will look in again later!

must go to the library to get a supply of mills and boon books for kyle so that she doesnt buy two from asda ( what a waste of money lol i could write them myself )

LOL @ TWINK. I know what ya mean
Attractive, glamerous femail meets rugged handsome male in improbable circumstances.

He's a pig (good looking one) she's angelic. He is mean to her for about 5 chapters and she considers him a cad and a serpent and tells him so in chapter 6.

After much instricable twining, the scales fall from her eyes and she sees him as the kinght he really is.

His heart melts and he has a personality replacement in the space of one paragraph.

She places her head on his broad manly chest and reaslises that they will be together until the end of time.

    THE END

You can go to work now Twink, just point Kyle in my direction.

    MATH x

Gotta go to work myself now, I'll continue with my novelist career later

    Hugs to all

    Good Morning All

Happy Birthday stefjb & Mr Churchmouse

Hope we are well, sorry I didnt get a chance to post Sunday evening, I did read the thread and will respond accordingly. However, DS has woken up with his right side of his face swollen, so need to be on that phone for 8.30 to ring the doctor's.

Well - in the end, due to one thing and another, I did not go to my dad's. I feel like a chicken now!
DD wanted to go her school friends birthday party, so I rang dad's & cancelled, left message on their answer machine, then at the last minute, she changed her mind. So I could have gone after all.

My babysitter came & we had a good rummage through the baby clothes. Some gorgeous outfits. Then I collected a baby bath for her (another freecycle item). She didnt tell me sooner about the baby, as there was problems, they could only find 2 tubes from his heart and not 4, so they waited untill he was bigger to do an in-depth scan. All is well now tough!

Then I spent all Sunday evening, listing again on ebay!

The girl who's been emailing me from freecycle, her court ref access went well for her, she been granted 6month resident order and if things goes well next time in court, she will be granted full order. She has gone to view the house she has been offered from the council, and says its massive. She is having a good clear out and will be offering me 1st refusal on any items before putting them on freecycle. How nice of her. She doesn't seem to be emailing me as much. She seems nice & harmless!

DLB - Well done to Luke for the goal!!! Shame about the result but at least they gave it their best. Like you say, it could have been nerves! Best of luck to DS for next season

Catowen - glad the build a bear party (ish) went off ok. Sounds very fascinating. Something I my DD would enjoy!

CCStar - (((hugs))) hope your feeling better soon, when ever Im tired, I always feel like there is too much hassle & bickering going off around me. But its just me beng too touchy!

I will be back later, if I have enough time before work.
    Have a great day all
    Love Emma xxx

Good morning to you all. My sympathies to those of you unable to sleep.

Happy birthday to stefejb and mr churchmouse.

Well for my day off I'm going to be pretty busy, I have the dentist this morning, the kids have put their dinner order in, and then I'm at w**k for a group supervision the an interview to be a supervisor at 6.00pm.

Yesterday I stained the frog haven, I hope they like blue. I have bought yet more plants, a bay tree and corriander for my herb garden and night secented stock, which is an essensial for the lovely evenings. I really must stop going to the garden centre.

Love and hugs to all those that need one.

PS ccstar hope you are your other half have made up this morning.

Sorry I haven't been around recently. Am currently living with family so there is very little I can either report or do. Mind you, we're starting to buy a shared ownership house so we're slowly getting there.

Am already planning how I'll be able to keep to my diddy budget...especially with a baby.

She's doing well at the moment. Has now grown to a huge 15lbs...is getting heavy to hold. She's getting good at giggling / laughing now, loves her food (strong flavours only please), has rolled over (but only on the bed), and is starting work on pulling herself upwards....but can't hold a sitting position, so quickly collapses. Oh, and she can still talk for Britain.

Anyway, hugs to those who need them....and big hellos to everyone

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.
